An ancient evil finds resistance in the most unlikely of places in this oddball comedy horror effort from Phantasm director Don Coscarelli. Resting in the confines of a Mud Creek, TX, nursing home after fading into obscurity following his departure from the limelight, an aging and embittered Elvis (Bruce Campbell) befriends a delusional patient named Jack (Ossie Davis) who claims to be John F. Kennedy. It seems that at the height of his popularity Elvis had switched identities with a convincing double, and, upon the death of the substitute, missed his chance to reclaim his former fame. Despite his anger at never having made a comeback, Elvis finds a new reason to live when Jack tips him off to an evil mummy that is feasting on the souls of hapless nursing home inhabitants. Before long the geriatric duo must muster the strength to fend off the malevolent soul sucker lest they ultimately fall prey to the fearsome Bubba Ho-Tep (Bob Ivy). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

If you are a Cambell fan or even a fan of Elvis. The you will love this film! Never would you think that a senile old Elvis played by Bruce Cambell and a wheel chair bound Osie Davis who thinks he is J.F.K fighting a soul sucking cowboy mummy would make a great movie, but not only does it deliver, it leaves you wanting more! This DVD set is awesome mainly because it comes with an awesome little Elvis leather jacket! I own the original release and when i saw this version I bought 2 from Best Buy! 1 i opened the other I left sealed up knowing it will become a collectors item in the future. Anyways I highly recommend this to anyone who loves Bruce Cambell, Elvis, monster or just good old fashioned fun movies!
I would recommend this to a friend

This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, especially for a film in the horror genre. Definitely adult humor, but it's funny without the extreme gore found in more recent horror films. Much of the humor is subtle and not overt or slapstick.
