Not as good as expected....Posted .
I finally got this so called wireless-wifi-using external hard drive as my first time experience. And frankly, I was disappointed for its lack of performence. I accept the fact that it is easy to set up, all you need to do is connect it to your modem or rowter and let install CD to do the rest of set up after a few clicks. But what I don't like about is its speed!! It took over an hour just to transfer the folder that's about 5 gigs with about 20 videos in it. It also took a few minutes until my labtop gets the signal from the harddrive when I was installing it the first time. I realized that the speed gets better when I use it away from the harddrive. But it is still slow. Thats like conversion from "Way too Slow~" to "Just too Slow......" I would have gave it better rating if usb cable was came along with so that hopefully I don't have to use this stupid wireless transfering. But its capacity is 1TB which is a huge amount although they now have like 3 and 4TBs. So only if I had a USB cable, I would have used wireless functions as an optional when someday I get extremly lazy that I don't want to move. I looked for other wireless harddrives and read through all the reveiws. Then I realized that all the wireless harddrives are not as good as it promised that most people are not satisfied with it. (There's a few who liked them but I really don't know why they like it when most people say it's stupid) So don't even think about buying any of wireless harddrives. They sound cool, but they only kills your time and patience. No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Decent valuePosted .
I used one at work so I bought one for home. $199 for a terabyte of storage plus additional features (like printer server) is hard to beat. I would like to see a 'simple' mode for just storage - leave the add-ons for techie types who like to play with such things.I would recommend this to a friend

Very Simple SetupPosted .
Tried Black Armour, couldn't get it to stream video. Took it back and ordered the Buffalo. I was up and running in less than 5 min. I have an older version of the link station and it has more settings involved but the set up on this new one was really simple.I would recommend this to a friend

Do not purchasePosted .
Purchased product three months ago, developed a fatal error. Manufacturer sent an RMA replacement that arrived DOA. Cheap price = cheap product. Find a different product for long term use, this one won't last even thru the warranty period. No, I would not recommend this to a friend
