Just OK.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Disappointing. Delay between hitting the switch and light bulb coming on is disconcerting. Plus you have to go online to get the whole thing to communicate with each other.

Q: QuestionI’d like to use this in a floor lamp in the middle of a room. Do I have to use the remote switch? Or can I still use the on/off switch that’s hardwired into the floor lamp?

Q: QuestionDoes this require a wifi connection at all times?

Once the devices are connected into the Cync Application that require a WIFI connection, it will stay connected to WIFI to allow for out of home control and will need to stay connected for that reason. If the device doesn't prompt you for your WIFI during the commissioning process, then it is not being connected to the WIFI at all.
