first off, the campaign was terrific. i enjoyed every single minute of it, your teammates are more responsive (unlike cod 4) and the graphics are magnificent. but the campaign was too short, it took me 4 hours to complete it. now the multiplayer.....disappointing.....just as bad as the world at war multiplayer, all the guns (except submachines and snipers) are a 2 hit kill at any range with stopping power. in all honesty stopping power should'nt even be in this game since there is no juggernaut...juggernaut was stopping powers clear counterpart in the previous cods. now the killstreak rewarsds, the 11 killstreak rewards are broken....i have gotten 27 kills with a chopper gunner one time...this should never happen, you dont even need to aim with it to get kills, thats how strong it is, and it has an infinite stream of bullets. the chopper gunner should have to reload like the ac130, that would make it more balanced. however cold blooded + stingers and the chopper is down, so its not entirely unbalanced. now the attachments, the heartbeat sensor and grenade launcher attachments are what really annoy players in the gameplay. the grenade launchers do not take up the perk 1 which is wrong because when a teamfull of players are using greande launchers with danger close, you guaranteed a loss, blast shield will not help. the spawn system is awful, sometimes, the enemy will even spwn right behind you. some of the deathstreaks in this game are unnecessary --via pain killer and final stand. the main purpose of putting painkiller in this game was so experienced players will not trap you in your spawn area in domination -- cod4 is famous for this, but the maps are so diverse that there will never be a situation where your team will be spawn trapped, juggernaut, if anything should take the place of painkiller, and final stand should be replaced with last stand, players have always hated the last stand perk. they made martydom which was another problem in the previous cods, a deathstreak, which is a nice band aid to the problem. however the riot shield and snipers are awesome.

After the huge critical and commercial success of CoD 4: Modern Warfare, there was bound to be a sequel sooner rather than later. After Treyarch did their story the year after, Infinity Ward came back with a vengeance with another classic game. After defeating Zakhaev, his followers seized Russia, making him a martyr and committing acts of terrorism in the name of revenge against the West. The story then splits in two: the first following a US Army Ranger PFC Allen, the second following "Roach", Task Force 141 member along with "Soap" and Cpt. Price. Allen is infiltrating the ultranationalists to stop their new leader, while "Roach" and his squad infiltrate a Russian military base to retrieve an American ACS from a fallen satellite. Unfortunately, tragedy strikes, tables are turned and warfare gets modern-er when Russia stages a full-scale attack on the US east coast, and will take the military know-how and ingenuity to bring an end to the bloodshed. Coming off the heels of the first game, I was afraid that 2 years was too soon to release a follow of equal, if not superior, follow-up to a GOTY classic. This game brings a fun, if short, campaign mode, terrific visuals, sound that is amazing, tight controls and all around fun time. The multiplayer is the main reason to purchase this game, and every CoD game, really. The maps are awesome throughout, with a few classic standouts that are still amazing after 7 years since it was released. The classic modes are back, with (Of course...) Deathmatch being the best and most frantic fun to be had. The DLC is really fantastic as well with more maps and weapons to add hours of fun to your multiplayer game. The only thing I miss is WoW's Zombies. I wonder if that will ever come back...? Overall, a fantastic game that is an absolute must on any system you can get it on, even on the Wii and DS! Its that good and comes highly recommended.

As great as MW1 was, MW2 builds upon and creates a gaming experience like no other. I played MW1 regularly from the moment I purchased a PS3 in mid 2007 to the time I inserted the MW2 disc. Not a single game that I have ever played was more fun.....until now. Multiplayer action is this game is as crisp as before. Most other FPS, I found the aiming to be the biggest hurdle, but MW1 and now in MW2 the aiming feels effortlessly responsive and true. Frustration comes from poor choices, bad strategy, or just terrible luck - NOT from a poor aiming system. Single player action (so far) has been extremely enjoyable; and like each CoD game, the story is engrossing, dramatic, and at least for MW2, eerily prophetic. My only beef so far with this game is that it seems you can take a lot more hits than in MW1. This could be explained by better armor, but my character can take a huge beating before going down which detracts from the strategy of picking good positions. The sound is phenomenal and engaging and even my multiplayer experience has been very pleasant. Some of the best things about this game are the ability to customize your character to much more advanced degree than in the previous installment. Specifically, the ability to alter kill streak rewards and more accessories to weapons create a new definition to to the word "cool". However, some of the kill streak rewards, in my opinion, offer the user/team too much of an advantage. One in particular is what appears to be a hovering attack helicopter. This thing is diabolical and seems to target me relentlessly for too long a duration. With several of my teammates attacking, it was not destroying or even showed signs of wear. Eventually it left, apparently out of ammo.I have not earned this perk yet so maybe it is sour grapes, but I think the time limit for this advantage should be shortened. Last thing, multiplayer was dropping servers on the first night, but I expect this problem will correct itself in short time. I imagine this game will by a part of my gaming experience for several years.

First, this is my ps3 debut, i had own a 360 for 2 years and half now, and just november 1st i got banned (so i couldnt test the online on this one) for being the so called pirate (i diserve it) so being my 3rd xbox (2 rrod, 1 baned) i decided to swith to the legal and with the so called ps3 which i didnt like. So game talking the the game play is solid, the campaing is on of the best (so its cod4) but a little bit short, and the open end is good enogh for me so multiplayer talking, i heard a lot of complains about psn and the lag and everything and i have to tell: that coming from a xbox live i noticed that the online features is lacking of matureness like chat options party talking etc. but the game itself runs greater than i thought, adding that im in buenos aires argentina and my internet connections is like 3mbs with 256upload wich allows me 2 yellow bars in american connections, thats enough to let me in mid-top table at the score. So the regular american gamer should have at least 3 green or 4 solid green bars wich makes the 2-3 shot killpossible (i have to spend half of a mag from my m4 to kill because of the ping-latency) so i dont know what you people keep complaining about, cause if i can kill with the american connection you can double kill, so the whole opinion is that the multiplayer is really good (+it never crasshed on me) the final part sticks with the special-ops wich is kinda fun but not that much + i got really frustrated when i couldnt kill 10 juggernauts with only explosives (at least in the 360 version cause in ps3 i dint even played the campaign) so if someone knows the trick on this please pm me on X-Stargaizer (ps3) or Stargaizer (xbox live) overall about the graphics i have to add that they are pretty cool (it looks a little better on ps3 rather than the xbox both at 1080p) but they are not amazing i think the good fits well to this game greetings

The game is great and IMHO it keeps the quality of COD4. Graphics and sound are the best, perfect for a 42” screen and a 5.1 sound system. I just completed the basic story and started playing online. The game system is pretty similar to that of COD4, so you will find it familiar. I liked the story, even when it is short, but not that bad, not different from the length of COD4, about 9 hours of playing (so don’t be surprised, you won’t find a bigger game here). For me, still worth the 60 bucks. I played from the beginning in difficult (I always do that) and I defeated without too much problems. Difficulty was ok, maybe a bit easier than COD4, but if you are an expert in COD4 it is not very unlikely that you would finish the game in about 5-7 hours. Some stages are too short and left you wishing for more, like at the very beginning with the big machine gun up in the humbee, shooting enemies for about 30 seconds and then to the floor, and then you saying “that’s all? I want more!!!”. Also I found some bugs that are not serious but ruins some of the effects of the game: dogs and enemies doing stupid thinks and getting stuck (you know, going back and forward very quickly), and aiming with the sight of a sniper rifle in the side of the target and the bullet hit the guy anywhere, and the opposite, aiming to the target and bullets don’t hit him. Continuity has some flaws, like your partner is coming after you and then he is waiting for you ahead (similar finding than killzone II, but not that bad). Even so, the game is well polished and the whole experience is quite intense. I have to admit that I miss the intense battles found in killzone II, I did not find that big and intense battles here. The online is awesome, I can’t tell you too much about it because I am a pretty new player, but so far it is amazing. So, I give the game a solid 5. It deserves a buy.

I know that a lot of people have complained about the campaign mode being too short, but this game is really about the multi-player experience. I played through the campaign on several difficulty levels, and I still found it to be fresh and challenging. The scenery is amazing, the enemy AI is formidable, and the voice acting is well done in comparison to COD 4 (any scenes with the Marines were brutal to listen to in COD 4 but Semper Fi nonetheless). However, the game really comes to life in the multiplayer modes. Special Ops mode is a great excuse to sit down with a buddy and shoot up some bad guys for a few hours, and the objectives are interesting if not completely innovative. Online multiplayer is as good as I have seen it on any game I have played to date. The ranking/leveling up feature is enough to keep the most hardcore gamer occupied for quite a while if you like to have every upgrade or achievement possible. My only gripe is that I agree with others that there should be some system to discourage camping. Perhaps if a player sits idle for long enough, their XP should be reduced for every kill. I do see how this is a working strategy for some, but not all players appreciate it. The list of different playing modes is excellent, and the clan system is good, but again not innovative. Weapons are diverse and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Even the most veteran players aren't unstoppable if you pick the right combination of weapons to stop them. I do agree though that if you run and gun through the whole thing you will feel the sting of death quite often (as I do). Unless you object to violent videogames or shooters in general, this game has something for every action fan. I don't usually write reviews of videogames, so this one is quite special for me. I haven't been able to stop playing since I bought it!!

To Short. To Sweet. To Overhyped. 3 & 1/2 *'s

(TO SHORT) I just want to start off and say that I am surprised that not a lot of people are commenting about how short the campaign is and how the ending is very lackluster. Also, there is no real story. The story feels all over the place, not real consice and has no depth. It took me a little over 5 hours to beat the game and not rushing through it. The game feels very dumbed down and you never get overwhelmed by the enemy like the previous installment. (TO SWEET) Let's get to the positives. The BIG thing that I do like about the game is the Brutality of Enemy. They do not care about anyone or anything except completing their objectives anyway possible. Another thing that they do wonderful is get you emotionally involved with the locations that they use. I like the Multiplayer Maps and how they are laid out compared to the last Modern Warfare and the different things you can do in Customize Class. The maps make you feel that you can roam freely and open and the graphics are spot on. Completely get immersed in you surroundings. With the Customizing Class which allows you to pair two regular weapons as opposed to one regular weapon and a sidearm is a much needed improvement. (TO OVERHYPED) All in all, this is a good game but hailing it as the Best Game of the year is probably going a little over board. I feel that there wasn't enough depth or anything really new to get all of this attention/hype

      Way to short

I gotta say, after all the hype, I'm really disappointed. I can't believe how little mission you get for $60. I'm glad I picked up a $10 gift card when I bought this, cause after 4 whole hours from beginning to end, I gotta say I'm feeling pretty jipped. Yeah, the online play is still great (when the server isn't constantly crashing. Hopefully they'll have this fixed soon), but with so many other great shooters out there, I expected a lot more. The story is a total mess. You play as four different characters by the end, (SPOILER: all of whom die off), and the level where you play as an undercover agent / terrorist slaughtering civilians wasn't cool, fun or interesting, it was just uncomfortable. I'm guessing they thought it was going to be edgy and controversial, but it just takes the story to an ugly place when it's already confusing and really just generally uninteresting. I guess they thought this would help, but it really just torpedoed the whole game for me. There's no sense of accomplishment or victory at the end, I just felt like I'd played the first act of a confusing, unfinished game. Overall, I say save your money for Assassin's Creed next week. After the previews I've seen, with all the new ways to assassinate bad guys, interesting side missions and a great looking story involving cool inventions by Davinci, I have little doubt it's going to seriously rock the hizouse.
