OK, OK, OK, everyone that came from under their rock early 2009 couldn't wait to get MW2, and instantly rushed to pick it up at their local Best Buy, go back under their rock, and play it. Yes, I get it. You were VERY excited, and wanted something that was more amazing than the prequel. But did you get that?

Well......I'll be nice. The good thing about this game, minus the nice weapon sounds and the actually enjoyable SpecOps, is the "OMG!!" moments in the campaign. MW had the sniper level, and walking around before dying thanks to a nuke going off.
But what's in MW2?
Well, how about a snowmobile level, ice climbing (don't look down), killing innocent Russian people in the THIRD LEVEL (yep...No Russian..YouTube it), sneaking around bases with surpressed weapons, and throwing a knife at the end of the game. Yes....OMG moments, and LOTS of them.
What's the bad, though?
Well....the campaign is short....VERY short.....UNBELIEVABLY short. Four hours??? ON NORMAL?!!!! WHAAAT?!!! MW1 took at least 8 on Normal! And the sequel is shorter?!!! Yea, no...not likin' that.
Also, could they make it any harder to follow the story? Bouncing from Ramirez to Roach to Ramirez to MacTavish (yes, he's in the game).......I lost track of what was actually going on after "No Russian"....third level...that's the last time I remember the story being clarified EVER in this game.....and with a four-hour campaign....should I be surprised?
I also said the online wasn't so great.....well...if you played the game BEFORE the many, many patches, you already know why.
Maybe it's because I REALLY liked MW1 due to it actually took SKILL to dominate in that game, but...wow...why, Infinity Ward? Why?????
Why would you let people run around with a grenade launcher, Thumper (which launches explosive rounds....just like another weapon...hmmm), and Scavenger so I can keep picking up launcher rounds? This game wasn't meant for veteran players of MW1 like myself. It was meant for novice players to hop in and get easy kills without using much brain power.
Also, some of the killstreaks are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpowered. Think about it......Chopper Gunner comes in....flies above you...you die. You spawn, you die again. Yea, let's change "Hit X to respawn" to "Hit X to die and get your butt spawn camped by a Chopper Gunner", which fires a flare before it can be shot down. So, if you're lucky enough to have a horrible gunner that just can't see you, or you have Cold-Blooded (prevents you from showing up as a red square), you can shoot two Stingers at it and take it down. Ehh......it can happen.
But let's talk about that AC130. Get 11 kills in a row, and you get to call in this baby (if you pick it as a killstreak). So, what happens with this thing? Oh...nothing......except it rains (they won't let me type it) on Earth with explosive shells firing at you, and shooting four flares before FINALLY being shot down....unless you have a team that's willing to co-ordinate attacks (one person fires a Stinger, flare...another fires, AC130 can't shoot flares in time...BOOM!)....just run....and hide.....for a good minute.
Don't even get me started on the glitchers before the patches. I played a few hours on Saturday.....nine games. Of those nine, half had people doing the care package glitch, and the rest were modded rooms where you basically run at twice the speed....yea, that's a fun way to play a game! Let's glitch and cheat like we're playing Halo 2 back in its prime days!! :D Good idea (.....insert explicit word here). Before that, it was rooms that had infinite ammo....yea, imagine an automatic grenade launcher...with infinite ammo...FOR EVERYONE.....fun? Yes. Annoying after a while? Yes.
Yet ANOTHER problem with online....LAAAAAAAAG. No, it's not my connection. 6MB wouldn't lag so much. But I can't count how many times I fired four rounds into someone that tried to knife me, only having the last two register, letting that guy knife me. OR, shooting an automatic gun...one, two, three, four, five, six....guess which ones registered? Yep, four, five and six....the last rounds register....what happened to the first three?!! Don't you people know you can't destroy matter?!!!
If you're like me, you'll get beyond annoyed with people running around stabbing you, or sniping you with a shotgun....actually, lemme talk about that as well.
How far do you think you should be able to hit someone with a shotgun? Not that far, right? Don't you think that.....hmm, a few feet....is effective, but after that, it's not worth anything?
Yea, tell that to the SPAS-12, or the Model 1887 before it got patched. I'm on the catwalk on Sub Base...that's two full levels up...I kill a guy in two shots that's below me.......yep...the range with shotties is unbelievable.
And another pet-peeve. How is a .50cal sniper rifle going to actually HIT a guy, and he doesn't die?! Come on!!! It's a 50....50!!!!!! That's death waiting to happen! But chest? Walks. Neck? Ehh, if he's lucky, walks....but the Intervention, magically, they're not so lucky....uh-huh. Great job, guys.
Maybe I'm being WAAAAY too picky, but coming from a game that actually was close to being a well-balanced game (MW1) to one that's completely broken (the FUBAR mistake they called MW2), it's obvious to see that MW2 was nothing but a cash cow, only to abuse the name instead of actually improving from MW1. It was made to be for those novice players/little kids that want the best early and go "OMG! Grenade Launcher! And I can still have perks! Cool!" and go use that instead of learning how to aim a gun, fire rounds (assuming all of them register!), and getting a kill.
*sigh*.....veterans......don't buy this game, 'less you're more patient than I am......and I'm not a patient person to begin with........
P.S. I re-read this five times to delete the profanity from the review....that's how frustrating this game is.....six, now.
