A Great, if Short Lived Arthurian Series

While I am saddened that this series couldn't find its footing on Starz (while shows like Da Vinci's Demons, Penny Dreadful, Black Sails, Outlander, Game of Thrones, and so on show that genre shows are still popular), that does not take away from the greatness of the show. The cast is solid. The writing is good. The graphical presentation is nice. You have to read into the details of each character and why they act as they do. What led to the show's demise was that it aired alongside Game of Thrones, and had difficulty drawing in a fanbase on the same night and time slot. Starz, ever since then, has learned from their mistakes and have given us Da Vinci's Demons, Black Sails, and the recently aired Outlander. While it's a hard price to pay for a show like Camelot, I am quite happy with Starz's chances taken with three great shows throughout their annual schedule. And I recommend nobody overlook this show.

This series was amazing...except for Arthur. It was so enjoyable because it was so true to Sir Thomas Mallory's work while still retaining its own interpretation. I actually appreciated some of the changes to the story they made because it helped to drive the characters more. Eva Green's Morgen was stunning and powerful; she was possibly the best and truest Morgen ever portrayed on the screen. The character was so well rounded and had so much depth left out of previous Morgens. She wasn't just a villain; all of her actions had an understandable justification and the watch can really feel sorry for her (especially when her brother was portrayed as such a irritating jerk). Joseph Fiennes' Merlin was equally as stunning and interesting, bring a delightful, more youthful yet old-aged soul interpretation to a well known character.

I still don't know why it wasn't picked up for a longer run. I absolutely loved their approach. There have been so many conceptions of King Arthur that, I'm sure most people wouldn't be able to see why one is better than the other and could see why this one didn't catch on. That said, I loved it and wish they kept it on longer.

In a season filled with termination, another great show loses it's wings. In my opinion this show is superior to Game of Thrones (HBO's rival show) in every way. The acting, story, and cinematography are superb! A very interesting take on the Arthur Mythology. A shame.

I enjoyed this short lived series and was disappointed when it was not renewed - how can you not enjoy the re-telling of this classic tale with great actors and great action but beware there is just enough adult content to keep this set away from the kids.

This is a good series, with a good plot. It was well acted but I do not see a season 2 available.
