Just fine, but 2 stars for incorrect description

I don't know why companies think they can get away with this, but the description says "This Canon CanoScan LiDE220 9623B002 flatbed scanner allows you to scan a page in about 10 seconds in up to 4800 x 4800 dpi optical resolution, so you can faithfully reproduce images. Send to Cloud enables you to upload images to select Cloud services." In fact, a 300 dpi scan (any bit depth) takes about 17 seconds, and a 600 dpi scan takes about 35 seconds. I didn't test 150 dpi, but that is pretty low if you want to OCR the document after scanning. If there was a better product on the market, I would jump at it. But this just seems par for the course -- cheap, reliable, and annoyingly slow. The scans appear to be spot-on, as I have found all Canon LiDE scanners for the last 5 years or more. But if they would make one that would save me time, I would shell out money for it. It is a great scanner for the money. It just doesn't meet the description by Best Buy (presumably written by Canon).

So here was my thinking: I want a big flat bed to really maximize surface area. I want something that can do crumpled, janky pieces of paper, and I want a sleek desktop without large equipment gunking up my desk space. Here's where I succeeded: 1) It looks cool 2) It's smaller than an all-in-one printer/scanner/fax Here's where I failed: 1) It's comically slow. Like... it made me laugh the first time. 2) It has connectivity issues with some laptops. My theory is a power over USB issue with older laptop machines, perhaps outdated USB drivers, etc. 3) This thing cost 3 times as much as some of the basic all-in-one printers out there. At the end of the day, the cost/benefit analysis just doesn't make sense to me. All-in-ones are cheaper, faster, (can) give you the feed option for when you need it, and they serve as a printer too. This guy is just too slow to be practical.

I purchased this to replace an aging Canon D1250 scanner that was so old they never made 64 bit drivers for it. I did a little research and was disappointed they didn't stock them, but Best Buy did well and had it in the store in just a few days. Set up was easy - started the software setup and then plugged in the USB cable when prompted. First scan was blazing fast compared to my old scanner, and a little customization of the software settings had my scans where I wanted them and converted to PDF in one shot. Very nice. For some things you just need a flatbed scanner, and this did just what I wanted. The old scanner had a special tray for slides, but the functionality of this one beats that - it will pick out an image or multiple ones - and makes scanning multi-page documents easy too.

The CanoScan LiDE220 scanner is a superb scanner for the money. I have a Mac running Windows 10 as a virtual machine. The scanner easily plugged and configured itself in both operating systems. It is hard to make a mistake using the scanner as the software interfaces are very easy to use. The scan quality is excellent, and I create pdf files right from the scan. The device is light yet sturdy enough to feel solid. There is no power supply to plug in as the scanner is powered through the USB port - a great idea. All in all a great scanner.

I had to replace my Cano-Scan because I had to replace my computer and the scanner I was using was not compatible with my new computer. Since I had received excellent service from my old scanner I wanted another CanoScan. I am not a techie so I called Canon and they walked me through the set up. The technician made it easy to follow his instructions. I only need the scanner occasionally for letter size documents and it does what I need it to do.

Not as "professional" as my last Canon.

This Canon is not as "usable" as my last Canon - but I'm sure it is less expensive. My last Canon (at least 15 years old) only came on when I activated it; This one comes on with the computer and stays on (on-off-on- off anytime the computer automatically shuts down and I turn it back on.) Wish I had my old one back - that was not "compatible iwith my Windows 10.

I read a lot of negative reviews about it but I have to say I have not had any problems with it and it's been working great and does everything I wanted it to do. I want to give out a shout out to this guy and thank him for helping me make my decision in buying this. https://www.parkablogs.com/content/best-scanner-artwork-comparison

I had the older model which did not work on Windows 10. I bought this machine to replace it. Needs the download update to work on Windows 10. Canon made stupid changes to the software making it much harder to use versus the older machine. The online manual is nearly worthless. Figured out how to use by trial and error.
