I have been looking for the "all in one" printer with the following functions: scan documents using the automatic document feeder (ADF) to USB device; laser printer; and that doesn't have to be connected to a computer to do print/scan jobs. I already have a wireless stand alone monochorme laser printer and an old inkjet printer with a flatbed scanner. Scanning with my old scanner was always a slow and "one page at a time" tedious job. I found out about the Canon MF733Cdw through Best Buy's weekly ad. I was really attracted to all the features (and price when on sale) on this All in One Printer. I was debating between the Canon MF733Cdw AND the Canon MF634Cdw models. Both the models are similar except their toner capacity and print yield (and size/dimensions of the printer). I chose the MF733Cdw because the Black toner cartridge in it (#046) is rated for printing 2,200 sheets (vs 1400 sheets for MF634Cdw model). MF733Cdw model has been very user friendly- the touch screen menu has several options for the print/scan/copy functions. (I have not used the fax option). You can connect your flash drive (USB) and use the touch screen menu to print your files from your flash drive, scan a document-save the scanned files on your flash drive. There is no need for it to be connected to a computer. The wireless option is very handy (Air print, NFC, Google Cloud Print, etc.). This printer was easy to connect to the wireless. This printer does good quality scanning (double sided at once). This printer is heavy and is huge. It goes to sleep mode when not it use (of course, you can change the sleep settings) and it has no issue waking up when document is sent for printing via wireless. The installation of printer driver and scanner software from the provided CD was easy. Canon's 3 years limited warranty is a plus as well........ With its functions, capacity and technology- this printer should last for years to come!!

Let me just start with saying this thing is big. Really big. It weighs over 50 pounds in the box and has equally large dimensions. I do not recommend trying to lift and set this up alone. This printer is not for an average home to just set on the corner of your desk but this printer is an amazing value for your home office if you have a lot of work to do from home. I am a self-employed contractor who assists medical offices and one of the things I do A LOT of is scanning. This is where this beast of a machine is worth every single penny. Not only is the automatic document feeder robust and not overly finicky about tears, folds or curls, but IT SCANS BOTH SIDES at the same time! It is an option in the settings you can toggle on and off as needed and a HUGE time saver!!! No more using the flatbed scanner and having to flip every single page over. This feature alone is worth way more than what I paid for the printer ($309.99 at the time of this posting). The only issue I have run into is the wireless connection dropped a few times so I went to a wired connection instead but there is a very good chance that that is due to my network switch dying (a replacement is on the way!) and not the printer itself. This is a premium machine at a very modest price. The cost of the pre-loaded toner alone is worth more than the machine! I simply can't say enough good things. Excellent quality prints that are fast. Wired and wireless printing. The air print feature is solid. And the scanner... if you have to do any amount of scanning, you know how tedious this can be. This printer makes scanning so much faster and easier. It is carving hours off of projects I am working on - a fact my clients and I are both grateful for!

Bought this item on an Early Black Friday sale for 2017...cost $279.99 plus tax. It arrived 4 days later with the poor UPS driver struggling to bring it up my angled front waywalk. The box was well packed and super easy to remove the printer with the pictographs on the box that explained how to open the packing to easily remove the printer, a big big plus on Canon for doing this. I know others say software difficult to install or poor WiFi, I experienced none of that. Printer set up in basement office with my wireless router on first floor. Printer found my WiFi SSID quickly and i inputted the password...done. Software install on Intel I7 processor laptop with windows completed in under 20 minutes. Software install on intel duo processor laptop with windows vista done in under half hour. The software suite especially the scanning software is sweet, easy to use from all my wireless laptops, tablets and phones. The NFC feature works with no issues. So far no dropped connection even after sleeping for 36 hours. Printed 50 pages in b/w and 10 in color and toners still all report 100%. The only quibble is the two sided scanning works but so far only the menu screen on printer gives you option of two sided scanning using usb drive. If scanning from printer menu to connected computer, no option listed to select two side scanning. Instead I have select it on the laptop canon scanning software...but that makes it permanent each time you scan from the printer menu to that connected laptop even if document is not two sided. You need to first go back to that laptop and deselect two sided scanning. I will call Canon after holidays to discuss how to get two sided scanning listed on the printer menu when attempting to scan to connected laptops.

I was looking for a all-in-one LASER printer to replace all my previous inkjet printers because I got tired of dealing with ink that could smear when when highlighting... or dealing with the clogging of the inkjet head after a few years of (infrequent) use. With the Black Friday 2017 sales at $279.99 + tax, I picked up this MF733Cdw printer and couldn't be happier with it. Initially, I was tempted by the smaller model MF632Cdw but with the Black Friday sale, the MF733Cdw was cheaper than the MF632Cdw and had better features that may or may not be important to you: - 2-side (duplex) scanning from feeder - Fax (even though I would probably never use it) - NFC - Faster printing speed (up to 28 ppm vs 19 ppm) - larger cassette capacity (250 vs 150 sheets) - Toner yield is higher on the MF733Cdw than the MF632Cdw (Black 2200 vs 1300 pgs, Color 2300 vs 1300 pgs) What I like about the printer so far: - Can do mobile print from anywhere, even outside the home, through Google Cloud Print or Apple Airprint - was easy to setup through my wireless network - Boots up quickly - Prints quickly - Printing quality is definitely better than your average inkjet - prints/scan with full auto-duplex from the feeder (very convenient) - Scan to an email (like I do at work) - works with both my PC and Mac - 3 year warranty (just in case) Things I wish I knew before I bought: - can't rename file from the printer’s menu when scanning to email. It gives default file name - This printer is BIG: make sure you have enough space for it in your office - Package box is ALSO BIG: it didn't fit in my 1998 Lexus E300 Sedan. I had to take it out of the box to put it in my car - Scan to email setup is not easy if you are not a little bit computer savvy. You need to know the SMTP and security/port settings for it to work Overall, I’ve really enjoyed this printer. I’m not sure how it compares to HP but I like that this Canon is a recent 2017 model with the latest and greatest features! :)

Needing to replace our dying color laser MFP (another brand), I started looked at getting the same one again, or this one. The additional features that this one has made it the best choice, even though it cost a little more (and getting a good deal on it helped). It is really fast on printing the first page from stand-by (about 8-9 seconds from clicking Print, even in color). Having the built-in duplex printing is great as we print 2-sided fairly often. Also, the fold-out front multi-purpose tray makes it very easy to temporarily change to a small stack of legal, labels or card stock (previous printer, you had to pull out the paper tray to put it in the slot but then, you could only run one page at a time, unless you loaded it into the main tray). One thing to note, if you do print on card stock, you will want to set the paper type to Heavy, which actually slows the paper running through the printer. Otherwise, it will go too fast and the toner will not cure completely, and it can repeat the pattern down the page. We haven't printed labels yet to see if type needs to be changed from plain with those. It is also fairly quiet during warm-up and printing (especially compared to our previous one). The ADF scanning works great, but the scanning software it came with is about the only thing I have an issue with. It's not horrible, but is missing some key functional abilities, such as being able to scan additional pages to a document (like when scanning the backs of 2-sided pages, which luckily, I do have other PDF creation programs to handle that when necessary), or to be able to easily change some of the options on the fly between scanned documents. It's definitely not a small printer and may not be the right fit for all home-office/personal use, but all in all, this has been a great upgrade for us so far.

      Canon comes through again

This is my second Canon laser purchase after getting an all-in-one black only printer for my senior mom last Christmas (2016). I needed an all-in-one but with color. I work from home frequently, but do not have a home business, and my kids have needs. I needed high quality printing with the assurance of no streaks for resumes. This was out of the box perfection. Two weeks later, still no problems. Also, the set up was easy - just follow the directions provided. My only mistake related to their term "network". This applies to your home wifi as well. I said no to network since I thought it was for small office business or home networks, but it also applies to wifi setup. So, I had to redo that part. Say "yes" to network setup during initialization. I had to search for it in all the menu screens to find that setup screen again and it took me awhile to find it. Nice that Canon provides some starter laser ink with the printer. As for Canon quality, I stuck with them because my mom's printer is a year old and has had zero issues. I read reviews from other printers I considered and decided to stay with Canon even though slightly more expensive for the same features. Further, I finally switched from an inkjet because I was tired of spending money on dried up unused inkjet cartridges which ultimately ruined a very good inkjet all-in-one printer. (I suggest you make the break to laser, especially if you are somewhat of an infrequent person who prints so you can avoid going through the expense of in cartridges drying up so much.) Thanks again Canon for keeping up your quality) - and to Best Buy for delivering as promised and having the best price in the marketplace.

Will never go back to Inkjet Printers

I bought this printer not out of necessity but rather my desire to stop hemorrhaging money on ink every other month for my HP 7525 Inkjet. I'm not a die hard printer user but when I would print, it felt like I would get 30 prints out of a cartridge before I had to buy more Ink. Came across the MF733Cdw when browsing for a replacement and couldn't pass up the $309 sale price. PROS: - Great print quality- was concerned about images as laser printers are more about efficiency and bulk text print but images from our Canon G7X Mark ii come out pretty clear) - SPEED. This beast spits out color/black & white prints in seconds. Even if it hasn't been used for a few days, the warm-up time is almost nonexistent and reacts quick. - Two-sided scanning / printing. I don't scan many documents but through a few tests, the scan quality and accuracy is spot on. - Ease of use. The LCD menu is super easy to use and responsive. Setup was a breeze- after following basic prompts and setting up WIFI, I was ready to print. My girlfriends Mac was able to discover the printer and use without even installing any drivers/software. Setting up to print from my android phone was also as simple as downloading an app. CONS: - Size. I don't really have many bad things to say about this unit however the size is comically massive- especially for a home office printer. With this printer being 50+ lbs, if you don't want to set your printer on the floor- you'll want to consider a separate super sturdy stand. Even though I was chastised by friends and family for spending $300+ on a printer, let alone in 2017- I have no regrets. I've printed 40+ sheets of color/black & white in the past month and the toner level is still at 100%. That piece of mind is exactly what I was after and received.

I don't usually give glowing reviews to products but this one is an exception. I recently purchased this to replace my previous Epson Workforce WF-3640. My previous printer wasn't broken; it just needed new ink but I just wanted thrilled about the printer so I didn't want to further invest more money on expensive ink if I wasn't all that satisfied with it. In fact, I've used a large number of printers in my history (as an IT manager) and I've really never been too pleased with any inkjets, ever. The print quality is never really all that great, even with high quality printers on high quality print settings I could still see dots or streaking or smudging... it was never great. Add in the fact that they are so wasteful with ink due to the need to clean the nozzles constantly. Anyway, on to this printer... Set up was easy. I connected it to wifi; then I downloaded driver install packages from the web; installed said packages which then searched for the printer; presto, up and running. The print jobs print exceedingly fast... I mean seriously fast. Click print and a couple seconds later the print job is spit out. No ink jets I've seen come anywhere close, either to start print job or to complete print job, and it's faster than most laser printers I've used as well. Lastly the quality, text is great... none of the quality issues I've always had with inkjets... characters are crisp and clean, no jagged edges... nice and presentable (I was always kind of embarrassed when using print outs from my inkjet as you could always see the off quality); and color (photo) printouts are great as well. Just took a picture from my phone last night (school project), printed from my phone, and it spit out an excellent full page rendition of the photo. That's it. I haven't yet had a chance to test the copy, scan, or fax capabilities but based on the printer functions, I wholeheartedly recommend this printer, no hesitation.
