      Best All-Around Camera...Period

There has been much said on this camera and on this series. I will add my brief thoughts: To begin with this camera is sharp. Don't believe all of the critics out there. It is not as CRISP as some cameras but it is quite sharp. Lenses make a lot of differences, so whatever you do, do not skimp on your lens. If you don't this camera will take advantage of what you attach to it and deliver fantastic results. My first outing was in Colorado on a nature hike/shoot. I was shooting with the standard lens that came with this bundle (24-135mm USM) and I found it to be more than capable of capturing exactly what I wanted in a walkabout lens. It was clean and easy to use. For the first few days I kept it in automatic and got fantastic picture and video results. Within a few days I was ready to go manual and again this camera did not disappoint. I did a little research online and found some great videos and suggestions on setup which made it quick and easy for me to get along with manual mode even though I am merely an enthusiast. Again the pictures turned out great and sharp. My next step was to take pictures at a wedding. Again I am no pro, but my results made me feel confident in my abilities and I credit great advice online and a great camera with the 80D. Even though the reception was much lower light, and I loathed the idea of using the built in flash, I got some great results. My latest venture was to shoot the super moon and again with some great advice, and this fantastic camera, I got results that I could never get from a point and shoot or a phone. For professionals, you already know what you want and will buy it. For enthusiasts or even beginners this can be a great step in the direction of professional photography. I opted this over the Sony A6300, even though the video is not 4K. The video performance is fantastic for my usage and I am planning on making a Sony purchase (the A6500) in the next month. But this camera is really spot on for daily usage all around. I had to lower the resolution of the attached photos to be able to upload them.

I've been wanting to get a DSLR camera for quite sometime but didn't know what to get and not to spend so much money. While the Canon 80D is not a Full Frame camera, it suites the need for someone like me who have not used a DSLR camera before and have been away from photography for a very long time. Although I bought it on sale, it's still expensive. However, I like the advanced features compared to the Rebels for beginnners. I didn't want to pay less for a beginner camera kit then only later have a desire for a more advanced camera while not jumping into professional classifications. This camere is in between for a hobbyist like me. The pictures I took look amazing. I can transfer the photos through wifi into my Mac or iPhone. The camera came with a 18-135mm F3.5 IS USM lens which is good enough. The kilt also offered a 70-250mm F4 IS STM telephoto zoom lens. I am returning this one because I feel it lacks closer close-ups while in the maximum leghts photos, they're a bit grainy. It can shoot a Full HD video, which I haven't tried yet. With a camera like this and the money spent, I wished it came with the 4K video because the technology is already there. Over all, I'm still satisfied with the camera and can easily spend more money for additional and better lenses, filters, hoods, external flash, remote switches, extra memories, extra batteries, camera bag, photo editing software, etc.

I purchased this camera for my girlfriend who was shooting on a dated Canon EOS Rebel T2i. She was in need of an upgrade now that she started to do photo shoots with our kids and others. Photography is a true passion of hers and I wanted to support her improving the quality of the product she put out. I researched this purchase for weeks before deciding on the 80D. I read the pros and cons of making the jump to full frame, Canon vs. Nikon (I currently shoot Nikon) and I read many reviews. I ultimately selected the 80D for multiple reasons: 1) The quality of the camera and it's features at this price point was unbeatable, 2) The 18-135mm lens offers flexibility, 3) The rotating flip out LCD screen, 4) The size & weight (My girlfriend is a dental hygentist, her hands often bother her so the weight, while more than her previous camera was less than that of the full frame models I was looking at, 6) It's a Canon, and Canon makes great cameras (nothing against Nikon, as mentioned above I still currently shoot with a Nikon, although I'm switching to Canon so we are on the same lens platform) Overall, this is a great camera! I have not spent that much time with it yet, so I can't review on specific functions other than the Wi-Fi capability that we absolutely love. I can say with 100% certainty that I'm buying the 80D with Video Creation Kit very soon!! This is a great camera at the price point. I highly recommend buying this camera if you are looking to step up your photo game!

I’ve never thought that I would love to own one but having to buy this camera is the best thing I have ever done. We enjoyed it so much. We don’t have to retake taking pictures of the same poses because it takes the best quality pictures and videos. Great quality and I love all the features that comes with it. We first used this camera last Christmas 2017 and have used it again right after Christmas to our family vacations to Sea World and Disneyland. I am very very pleased for all the videos and pictures we took, no fail and no more frustrations but a plain great time with the family capturing the best moments of our vacations. I am very thankful of the good gentleman who was helping me and educating me on which is which to pick for a camera. He helped me a lot and got my decision fixed to get this one. He is a good employee he made his customer very happy and satisfied and this camera will be part of our good family memories for a longest time for sure.

I had originally considered the Canon 70D, which is a wonderful camera in its own right, but when the Canon 80D was announced I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and to start taking amazing photos and videos. It finally arrived last week and my expectations were easily exceeded with this awesome camera. It has many of the features found in the more pro-level cameras and some new ones too. The newly designed 18-135mm lens is a dream come true for this type of camera and, so far, the pictures are clear, sharp and full of vibrant color. As an upgrade to an older model or as a first D-SLR you wouldn't be disappointed if you purchased the Canon EOS 80D. The image of our weeping cherry tree was taken on a cloudy day, but is still very clear when you zoom in for a close up, even though it was resized to 1/5th the original size.

Upon purchasing this item i did do a bunch of research on it as most people should do before making their decision. I had the previous model, which is the Canon EOS 70D. Major upgrades have been made to the newer model from the mega pixels, a mic jack and also canon first camera to offer 60 fps with full 1080p resolution. They also included a duel pixel cmos sensor which is outstanding and a big leap in autofocus points for the camera which in my opinion is great for live and viewfinder shooting. This is an outstanding camera all around and top of its class for video recording for amateur and professionals! The camera is comfortable in hand and easy to learn if you are a beginner and carries its classic canon settings which previous canon users are all familiar with. For the asking price of the camera compared to the other higher end models and even its previous model before. This is a MUST BUY!

The 80D is the second DSLR camera I've owned (I bought my T5i second-hand). I'm still fairly new to photography, but wanted to step up to the "enthusiast" level of camera. The 80D takes amazing pictures, and I love all of the "bells and whistles" it offers. It's great being able to download pics to my computer wirelessly. I can't wait to play with the other wireless features (controlling the camera from my iPad or phone). The controls are fairly intuitive, with great guides/descriptions for a newbie like me. The 18-135mm lens that came with the camera is a much better and more versatile lens than the standard 18-55mm lens that came with my T5i. The camera fits nicely in my hands, the controls are easy to reach, and it isn't overly heavy. i expect to have this camera for a long time, and will suit me very well as I get more experience behind the lens.

I love Canon. I used a T3i with a 10-18 f/3.5-5.6, a 50 f/1.8 and the 18-55 kit lens. When my son knocked it out of my hand and broke my 4 year old T3i, it was time for an upgrade. I had the opportunity to use the 80D, which has improved autofocus (but not that much more than the 70D), marginal dynamic range improvement, and the head phone jack for audio monitoring, and 1080 at 60fps, but it just didn't feel like the upgrade I wanted quality wise for the picture. It felt soft at 1080p (which could be a result of the crop lenses that I used), so I wanted to look for better video quality as my purpose was to use it for videos as well as photos! I used the new 18-135 Nano USM, and at ~$1700, it was just awesome to use. But that same money, I ended up going with the a6300 with the 16-50mm kit, 35mm f/1.8, and the 18-105mm f/4. Better low light performance, just as awesome continuous autofocus, 11 fps when it comes to sports shooting, crop sensor, but also with 4K video. Canon is protecting its higher end line by not incorporating 4K, something that other companies like Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony are giving to consumers. I still keep my lenses and hope that the next Canon in this class will feature 4K. I'll happily go back and have 2 cameras that can do 4K.
