Very Pleased So Far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My requirements for another camera were high resolution, automatic exposure bracketing, raw files, and focal lengths to create HDR images of landscapes, waterfalls, etc. The image quality within the G7X parameters is comparable or better than my EOS 7D and moving from a backpack with lenses to a beltpack while hiking is great. Very pleased with the image stabilization and electronic level as well. Con would be the lack of support by PhotoShop CS5 for the RAW files but Adobe released an update to their DNG converter that will convert RAW to DNG for processing. Not ideal but a path to success. Going from a 7D and similar camera for many years to the G7X is taking some adjusting to the feel of the camera in my hands. Great range from highlights to shadows in attached sample.

Simply the best pocket camera money can buy.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried out both the Canon G7X and the Sony RX100 III. I decided to go with the Canon because of the touchscreen/better control and the much more useful lens. The lens on the G7x is the star here, it's brighter than the sony AND longer. Give you more control over Depth of field and better portrait pictures. The touchscreen on the Canon also make it much easier to navigate/control. And the picture quality is just the best for a camera that fit in my JEAN Pocket. I have a Nikon D5200 DSLR and I tell you what, I find myself leaving my DSLR home a lot now. Unless you're super picky, you will NOT be disappointed with this camera.

Great for vlogging on YouTube! Easy for everyday!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this camera because I wanted a high quality hand held point and shoot for my YouTube channel. This has been the best choice I have made. The screen that flips makes it easy to see what you are filming when the camera is pointed at you. It connects to my smart phone for remote shooting. It has so many features I can't even list them all. I highly recommend this camera for anyone looking for a high quality point and shoot for every day use. I also love the warranty with Best Buy I never have to worry about my camera because I know it is covered. Check out these photos I took with it on just the preset settings. Great camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was going for a trip to Sequioa and originally in the market for prime lens for landscape shots on my DSLR. After reading reviews and trying out the G7X at the store, I was sold on the quality of photos and the convenience of a point and shoot for family trips. The G7X MARK II came out shortly after this came out but I would still get this over the MARK II.

Best Camera for 2015
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera has a 1 inch image sensor for a compact body. It takes great photos with amazing image quality. The Manual mode is a true manual that are similar to the previous models & comes with Wifi, touch screen, & shoots RAW. The body was updated to look very similar to the S series. It no longer has a viewfinder. The 1.8F allows for awesome low light photography. I am very pleased and although the price is steep for a point & shoot I like that its not bulky & that I don't have to carry around extra lenses. This will not replace you DSLR but its a step up from normal point & shoot.

Great Camera For VLOGGING
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, everything about this camera is almost perfect. I mostly use it for video, not stills. You can't beat it for the price. Pros: The flip up screen, full manual features, 1080 video. The quality is great. If you're curious as to how the video looks, you can check out my samples at http://www.youtube.com/brandonaldred But I have ran into a few cons: Battery life. I've had to purchase a total of 2 spare batteries to get me through an entire day of filming...and that's not filming all that much. If you were using it to video all day 4-5 batteries would be needed. Next, the biggest thing that bothered me is that I was at one dusty location and the dust actually got inside the unit, and on the backside of the glass of the lens. I can't wipe the dust off, and it has caused some autofocusing issues. Those two cons though are so minor, that as long as you're not in super dusty areas and have an extra battery or two, it's a great unit. Like I said, for the price, it can't be beat.

excellent buy. great pics...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for lower light, trickier light situation, and faster action i no longer have to shift from my old S95 to the DSLR... this is pretty my retired my DSLR usage except for specific lense effect or when looking for the indrect flash bounce... picture quality is really good even at higher ISO levels. auto focus speed is on par with DSLR... for sure DSLR will be faster but marginal for day to day use compared to the major benefit of portability. i don't really use the wifi bells and whistles. an external flash would have been a nice plus. price for this is very much on the higher scale of point and shoot but the opportunity to capture the moment is priceless. when the kids are all over and the moment is captured it makes the premium price worth every penny... i've had the S95 for about 4yrs and have high confidence level that this G7x can last just as long based on usage so far...

Q: QuestionHow does this perform in low light?
Asked by dfaulk.
- A:Answer The G7X does very well in low light for a pocket cam compared to lower end pocket cams with smaller sensors. If you're expecting DSLR low light ability, however, you will be disappointed. I have a attached a photo taken in very low light during a show at Garcia's in NY.

Q: QuestionIs it true that this camera doesn't shoot RAW? My old P&S Canon S95 has that capability.
Asked by Gordon.
- A:Answer The Canon PowerShot G7 X? It most certainly shoots RAW, and as I stated in my short review of the camera, the right way to get the best out of this camera is to shoot only in RAW.
