Best French Press for the money$
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Caribou Coffee 5 Cup French Press is the best value of any french press on the market. It's been priced as low as $9.99 as a Deal of the Day! Compared to my Bodum or Starbucks French Presses it's almost as good, but they are both more than twice the price of a Caribou Coffee press. As with any French press it may take a one or two uses to get the grind size and timing dialed in to your likeness. After, its a perfect cup every time. Fresh, roasted coffee beans and filtered water (refrigerator dispensed water works fine as long as the filters are changed at proper intervals) are essential for best results. I also recommend using a hand operated ceramic burr grinder for best results when grinding coffee to produce grinds of a uniform size; bladed grinders are notorious for producing poorly ground coffee.

Way better than an electronic coffee machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this French press for a while now and it the first one I have ever purchased. If this one breaks , I will definitely buy another one. It is slightly more involved than using a percolating machine but the difference in flavor is quite noticeable. By using the instructions provided, you can easily make coffee more fine tuned to your liking. I would recommend, however, whole bean coffee and a bean grinder to grind the beans a little finer than pre ground Coffee. By far some of the best and most flavorful coffee I have made.

Caribou Coffee - 5-Cup French Press - Clear
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Press is small. It makes coffee for sure but I find it easier to use my drip pot for a quick, good tasting cup of coffee. I think it is a bit of a chore to clean and store being glass.

First French Press
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up this after hearing all the lore about French Press coffee brewing and how great it is.. For my first entry, this seems to do the trick.. Well worth the reduced clearance price I paid.

Not bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a small French press, but it gets the job done. The glass seems to be thinner and more fragile than my previous one. There’s no base around the bottom, making me think I could easily break it.

Q: QuestionCan I used it directly on the gas stove till the tea cooked? I don't have an electrical stove.
Asked by reba70.
- A:Answer I would not recommend putting the glass over a flame. Just heat water up in a separate container either using the stove or microwave and pour the hot water into the French Press after you put coffee grounds on the bottom. Directions in the box are pretty simple.

Q: QuestionIs it microwaveable without the plunger and the base?
Asked by Evie.
- A:Answer It's made out of glass so I don't see why not

Q: Questioncouple quick questions if anyone gets on here. what's the capacity? how much water will it hold? to say 5 cups of coffee doesn't say much so i'm wondering about that. AND, is that wooden base actually attached to the press, or is it just included loose?
Asked by Thomas.
- A:Answer The wooden base is a 'coaster'. I haven't measured actual cups but I get 2 16/18 oz coffee cups out of it. So 32/36 oz.
