I saw this movie in the theaters and it sucked and I don’t know why I bought this. But it did come in good condition

So - I know this movie got terrible reviews. And I can totally understand why it got terrible reviews. This is not an Oscar winning movie. HAHA! But it was soo good! I am an avid Andrew Lloyd Webber fan! So this was a treat. I wrote a lengthy review for my facebook - haha! So I am just going to copy and paste. My main point though- try it out - with an open mind. Unless you did not enjoy the stage musical Cats. If you don 't like the musical - or don't get it, you will not enjoy the movie. I am trying to remember the first big musical they turned into a movie. At least in my lifetime. I know we have Oklahoma and all those Golden Age ones. But in the last 20 years we have welcomed Phantom. Rent. Hairspray. Into the Woods. You get my point. And vice versa - there have been movies that have been turned into musicals. Elf - The Bodyguard - Anastasia - Frozen - Moulin Rouge - etc. Now, I think an actor or someone totally obsessed with theater would have a different take on some of these experiences than the - average movie goer. Seeing a show before you live on stage presents a completely different experience than watching a movie - and the experience is heighted 10 fold if you have spent time on the stage yourself and understand the amazing power of transformation you go through. I think - that when you watch something on stage - your brain excuses some things because you are transported to another world where anything is possible. Sometimes so much more than a movie can. I loved and hated the Bodyguard because I already put myself into movies - watching it live... was WAY to … real. LOL! Especially in the time when I saw it. Anyway - I shall move on to the point. Now - in our recent love affair with Musicals - movies and live experiences alike - I think we can agree that some experiences should not transcend to the other. Moulin Rouge makes COMPLETE sense as to why that would be both movie and musical. I hope I get to see it one day!! But War Horse? As a musical? That movie is about - horses - how did they do that?! Course I thought the same thing when I learned that Lion King was going to be made into a musical and that was FANTASTIC. All that being said - I think there are some musicals - that should not be made into movies. Cats. The musical does a good job asking you to believe what is unbelievable - that all these actors are in fact … Cats. Something that can get borderline cheesy at times. I have seen the musical several times and have taken different things away from it each time. When the movie came out - the first thing I thought was, There is NO dialogue in that show - how are they going to make that into a movie. Which - I can see where the experience would be a Love or Hate thing. You either Love it - or you hate it. It is my understanding that most have hated it. I can totally see why. It asks you to take your imagination to places it should never go - and it does it in an extremely cheesy way. I will admit it is very odd spending the better part of almost 2 hours watching actors try to be cats. But then again...…… I absolutely LOVED it!!!! I LOVE the musical. The first time I saw the musical I had NO idea what was happening but that was okay. I bought a ticket for a crazy ride and I enjoyed every moment of it! It was the same with the movie! I was still - unsure after about 20 minutes… (they almost lost me with Rebel Wilson) but honestly - it's a very accurate depiction of the musical. I guess I am the weird one. Maybe not so much weird but more eclectic. It doesn't make sense and it's totally cheesy - but I don't care. I love just watching all this odd feline mayhem!
