    An Average Effort

I loved the first Superjoint album, "Use Once and Destroy" (back when they were called Superjoint Ritual). Their second album wasn't as good as the first one was, but it was still decent and had some good moments. So when I heard that Superjoint was getting the band back together I was excited. I was hoping for something closer to "Use Once and Destroy". Unfortunately, this seems a bit forced and sounds like Phil Anselmo's second solo album with The Illegals. I've always been a huge fan of Phil's work, but this one leaves me wanting a bit more.

within the past decade and a half, Phil Anselmo has probably been one of the busiest guys in all of metal... Down, Arson Anthem, Phil Anselmo & The Illegals, En Minor, Scour, and Superjoint (they dropped "Ritual" from the band name for this new release)... to be honest, I never thought we'd get another album from them, but surprisingly, we do. the bottom line is, if you enjoyed their first 2 albums, then you'll definitely dig this one. its really no different.

This is my favorite of Phil Anselmo's post-Pantera bands. For whatever reason in Phillips mind, he has deleted the 'Ritual' part of the name, but the sound remains similar. Some wild ideas stated very strongly, but not to the point of being vulgar like in the past. A bit more mature disc, but maybe slightly less fun. Still, a good listen.

I didn't have my hopes up to high because I wasn't really impressed with the last Down EP, and even less with Phil's solo album. His singing/yelling abilities seem to have taken a dive, and I don't really like the muffled mix of his solo album. This however is a lot more straight forward and rockin'.

On Superjoint's first studio album in 13 years, frontman Phil Anselmo is just as angry as ever. Caught Up in the Gears of Application probably won't win new fans, though it'll satisfy those who've been longtime fans of Anselmo's work.

Look with Phil Anselmo you know your always going to get something heavy. I can't say that if your into Pantera and Down that it's a must buy. But if you enjoy heavy, in your face music then it's totally worth buying.

I loved this CD, if you're into heavy metal you will too. If you love Phil Anselmo, you will love this CD. Then again, I have a CD cover for one of their other albums tattooed on my arm, so... bias obviously.

After more than a decade Superjoint is back with a good and punky , dirty album . You need a couple of hearing to get the purpose of the not so clean production but its works .
