I purchased this item as it has what I was looking for. A LCD screen, photo/video capture & save either on a micro SD card (not provided) or directly to your computer. Also the added ability to direct connect to a TV or monitor for everyone to view. Rechargeable battery for portability or AC connection. The adjustments allow you to really see some interesting stuff. I usually get the item like a coin magnified then snap a picture. Viewed on a computer I can really zoom in even further for more detail. We have had so much fun with this that we purchased a second one and donated it to the children's section of our library for their use with story time and discovery hour. If you are a lab tech this may not be for you but for the layman/family/collector or just the curious, this will be a fun and enjoyable purchase.!

Bought for my husband to use with his coin collection. He looks for finite stamping errors on coins and it was too hard to see things with tradtional hand held magnifiers. This electronic scope lets him look at those finite details easily and he can snap a digital picture of the coin to save or share as needed. This has been worth the investment.
