A real winner
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWhen we found out that my 85 year-old mother-in-law has taken an interest in the astronomy, we thought that a telescope would be a nice present. After some research we thought that the Celestron - PowerSeeker 70EQ Refractor Telescope would fit the bill. Powerful, yet compact and easy to use. With further research I found that Best Buy had the best deal. Well, it as a hit! She loves it and now most nights (even in the bitter cold) she can be found in her back yard, check out the stars or following the path of the Space Station. This turned out to be a wonderful gift, and I recommend it to anyone interested in the night sky.

More than this beginner needs!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI love the telescope. Being a true beginner, It has many more bells & whistles than I know what to do with at this point, but hopefully I will learn as I progress. It definitely does everything I currently need.

Good start scope for my 5 year old granddaughter
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendTook me about a 1/2 hour to put this together made sure that everything lined up. The only thing that is missing are the filters so we can get a better view without the Light haze. Got the cell phone attachment so she can see the images better. works great with the attachment just takes a while to adjust
Q: QuestionWhat's a refractive telescope
Asked by Robert.
- A:Answer Refract means "to bend." A refractor telescope uses a lens (a combination of two to four polished glass pieces) to bring light to a focus. Placing an eyepiece at the focus point will allow you to see a magnified image of what you are looking at. The PowerSeeker 70EQ is a refractor telescope model. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron
