I've had/used this item for around a month now. It's exactly what I was looking for--a protective iPad Mini case with a fully functional keyboard. I haven't had any issues with the keyboard's connectivity. There is no backlight, if you're looking for that. I could also see typing be more problematic for people with larger hands (I have tiny hands).

A really great case that really makes your iPad feel like a small laptop. The inside of the case really looks like a MacBook Air. It connects very quickly every time, the battery life is great. I have been using for 4 weeks, not everyday, but have only charged once. The keyboard is a little small when you are using the iPad mini but it's not bad. One complaint is the the outside of the case is just hard plastic, it's kind of boring ... But it does do a good job of protecting iPad. The opening of the Lighting cable is small so you have to use stock Apple charger or similar when charging iPad in case. Also does not yet work with the iPad mini 4.

I've used other keyboard/cases for my iPad. This is the best one. This, along with the back of the iPad turns it into a hard case. It's good for traveling etc. The thing that I like best about this one is that the keyboard is the same as my MacBook Pro. I found other ones hard to use. The keys were tiny and hard to find. There is no problem with that here. Highly recommended.
