Purchased these so I could stay in touch when working around the park I live in. They say 35 miles (max) I could only get about 1/4 mile (max) fully charged. Yes there are trees... but that shouldn't dampen them that much. Also... after two uses.. one of them would no longer turn off unless you took the batteries out. Would turn on... but not off. Very disappointed. Returned them to Best Buy... with one of them still chirping in the box. No problem with the return even though I bought them online. Give them credit for that.

I live in a mountainous region, so these only pick up from about 3/4 of a mile apart (rather than the 35 mile range). The weather radio is a plus. I have no major complaints.
