We use these between our house and Grandpas house about a mile away. The batteries last quite a long time between charges -like days- Grandpa and the grandson (3years old) are always at the touch of a button away. I bring one to work with me sometimes, 6 miles away and my little guy can pop in when ever he wants to say, “hey Momma!” It’s a blast!
