    The Gas Leak Year....

Community is one of the most overlooked shows ever released, struggling with the ratings constantly, some major cast shake-ups, Dan Harmon being fired then rehired, little awards love (Always going to The Big Bang Theory or Modern Family for Best Comedy.... yeah, right.) but it makes up for it with a large and very vocal fan base, creative and hilarious episodes and just a very filmic show that is one of the best ever released. Even if season 4 is the weakest season yet, due to different show runners, but still is way funnier than most comedies out there. The Community DVD sets have been known to be some of the best out there and this set continues that tradition. The PQ, sourced from digital cameras, is as good as ever, looking better than some movies and equals a lot of the film-y shows out there. The AQ is rather decent, but the 5.1 audio should be enhanced a little more to make it more epic in these episodes, though the dialogue and music come through well and is very balanced. The extras though, is where the real fun kicks in, starting with commentaries over all 13 episodes, with a revolving door of various cast and crew members discussing everything from set stories to just plain joshing around. 2 behind the scenes featurettes revolving around the Inspector Spacetime convention episode and the muppet episode are here, along with outtakes and deleted scenes round of this great DVD set. Only wish is Sony would release the series on Blu Ray, but other than that a must own set!

Community we received not the one we deserved

*I have not received this yet, this is just of the show content* Community has been a very fragile show, the humor is great and spot on- but the barrier for entry is that unless you know the characters you will not be on board with the comedy. This season we got two brand new showrunners who had to deal with a tremendous amount of pressure- appease fans and keep the executives who fired the last showrunner, happy. The results are mixed. The show pulls more gimmicks this season, without progressing the characters. In actuality it undoes a lot of the progression that two characters had made in the previous season. There are a few really good standout episodes- the episode that deals with Changnesia and the Jim Rash written episode, which is largely a return to form, are top notch. This is not the Community that we deserved, but it did bridge the way for Dan Harmon (previous showrunner) to come back. Recommended mainly for the Jim Rash episode or for the completist.

This season was not as good as the previous seasons, but, still, Community at its worst is still better than most shows on TV these days. When Dan Harmon was running things, even the most outlandish episodes were grounded in reality - they had a reason for being that way, perhaps they took place in someone's mind and we were seeing what that character saw, or something like that. This season went outside the bounds of the real world in some episodes for no reason. There are plenty of special features, including a bunch of commentaries. Also, they turned Chevy Chase's character into a caricature of his former self. And that just wasn't fun to watch. At least Harmon is back in charge for the 5th season!

Community is an extremely clever, witty, and creative comedy with a cast of 8-9 regulars that are all great at comedy and drama. Start with year 1 and work your way up to year 4. For year 4 the creator Dan Harmon was kicked off the show and a couple episodes were subpar by Community standards. But a show where Ken Jeong and Chevy chase are not even the funniest people on the show you have great TV.

This season of community is not as strong as the previous ones. I can't say for sure that is has to do with the departure of the series creator but it likely does. That aside there are still some solid episodes, and character development plots that help it stay entertaining. Season 4 doesn't feel as well crafted as the past seasons felt , but it is still enjoyable.

Community is the best comedy on tv right now. The writing is great and they're reshaping the way tv comedies are set up for television. I hope NBC continues with the series since it has been an amazing show to watch! Abed and Troy are the greatest tv duo to ever happen. I hope it doesn't typecast them and prevent them from other potential roles.

The Study Group returns from summer break ready to tackle their fourth year of Community College. Jeff is particularly focused on graduating and is just a few credits away. Meanwhile, Britta helps Abed deal with the anxiety he is experiencing over the thought of the study group graduating and breaking up.

Season 4 was plagued from the get-go knowing the creator, Dan Harmon, was fired. I knew it would be different but still had high hopes. It is still worth buying being a huge Community fan but it definitely is not the best season. Some really good episodes and some just off the mark.
