John Harmon (Steven Seagal), an operative working for both the CIA and DEA, investigates a terrorist plot to smuggle weapons into the United States via drug trafficking. With the help of an FBI agent (Jemma Dallender) and a drone pilot (Russell Wong), Harmon must destroy the alliance between a terrorist cell and a drug cartel. Written and directed by Keoni Waxman.~Jack Rodgers
Well, "Contract To Kill" is unusually good for Seagal, as not everything he does is that good anymore. This is not too far from "Absolution", a great film surprisingly, though not as good. Very similar to "A Good Man". Decent action, but it fails at the very end when he goes off on a political rant that really brings down my rating some. he has done this before, but it was environmental, and this is partisan political rants. That we do not need. But still, an enjoyable DVD, I can do without the rants. Out of 10 stars.....a six. Worth picking up.
A real surprise here, as a lot of Seagal's stuff these days, all direct to DVD, is either flat or concerns more with shooting than fighting. This is one of the rare recent releases (A Good Man", "Absolution") that is very good. This just misses a 5 star rating, with a nice end twist, and plenty of action. No disappointment here!
Being that Steven Seagal is in this movie, already makes it one of my favorites. I love his style and acting in all of his movies. I'm a big fan and this movie certainly did not disappoint me. There is never a dull moment, lots of action and twists and turns to keep one stimulated and interested thru to the end. A fine film added to my collection.
The CIA gathers evidence on a dangerous group that is planning to join forces with a drug cartel in Colombia. CIA agent John Harmon, (Segal) assembles his own very specialized team to turn the two groups against each other. The use of a drone is very effective for his team in this non-stop action movie throughout that Segal fans will really enjoy.
With as many movies as Steven puts out you would think- all klunkers. But no, this movie was one I would recommend. Of course he makes guys he's fighting look ridiculous but it works. His 2 sidekicks are perfect in their roles. Very enjoyable movie. Keep churning them out Steven, as long they are as good as this one.
I expected more oriental moves from Seagal, but I guess he's getting older now and gaining weight. The scenes were close up camera shots, so you couldn't see his moves, and although he could probably still hit hard, the camera angles disguised it. Unlike his earlier films, where the fight scenes were very open, in these, I could have done them. I do like Seagal however and I buy all his films. If you are a fan of his, you will still like the film.
I have been a fan for Steven Seagal's movies, but unfortunately most of his movie have not been re-mastered into HD. So this new movie is a welcome addition, even though Steven shows his age already. Will watch it again!
His movies are good and this one was great too but I give it a 3 because you can't understand 90 percent of what he is saying. He either needs a microphone hidden on his body during filming or something. Tired of straining to understand what he is saying and its the same in most of his movies so not specific to just this one.
