Q: QuestionDorm room requires surge protection and bans extension cords. I'm confused about this item whether it would qualify since it is an extension cord with surge protection. Is there a protection rating for this item in joules?

- A:Answer sorry dont know what they consider extension cord. best to check we dorm coordinator or school to be sure. there are surge supressors that are plugged in to a socket/outlet and a cord to the device is plugged into it. Good luck
