Subpar internal parts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every tech review out there will tell you that Corsair is the power supply of choice however not all Corsair parts are equal particularly their RM series. I bought this model for my $2k build and the power supply blew after 6 months (build requirements were only 500W but I was leaving room in case I wanted another graphics card). Looking at reviews now on other sites it seems that corsair used cheap capacitors on their RM models. RMA process is a joke after spending $200 on a power supply they want you to pay shipping for them to fix or replace their poor quality. Power supplies 1000W and above are heavy and shipping is not cheap. At this point I wouldn't want another RM1000M in my build. I'm thinking of trying the EVGA Supersonic G2, it has a 10 year warranty and tech reviews were pretty positive. I've always loved their graphics cards.
