We've used this about 4 times now. It works great! We make a lot of homemade soups. I really love being able to brown the meat and onions in the pot on the stove and then moving it to the cooker. Saves time and dirty pans!

Have never had a slow cooker before and from what I have read you need to sear meat before slow cooking. This particular slow cooker has a ceramic insert that can be used on the stove to do this preparation and that was a plus in purchasing this slow cooker.
