Mostly for looks rather than functionality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, it's a decent record player. It looks exactly like I expected and it has pretty good sound quality. My only issue was that a previous review mentioned that the player had a USB port which I was excited for, but when I opened it up there wasn't a USB port. I was looking forward to using it as speakers for my iPhone. Other than that it's basically what you would expect. If you're looking for basic and stylish, this is the way to go. If you're looking for something that is a bit more functional, I'd look elsewhere.

Simple record player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this record player because it was the simplest one I cld find that Best Buy would let me use my gift card for. Its ready to use right out of the box. It closes easily which makes it great to move around. Sound quality is pretty good. Its really good record player for begginers.

Exactly what I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just wanted a nice, compact player for my room at a decent price and I think this fulfilled that request. However if you were playing records for a large group, it might not be as easy to hear over noise.

Fantastic little unit if you're not a audiophlie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this bad boy to put in our den next to our bar so I can play it during social gatherings and game nights. This record player fits the bill perfectly. I'm not looking for supreme audio or anything, just something that looked neat, played records, was easy to use/maintenance, and got the party started. You'll read reviews that Crossley products are cheap knock-offs of what they once where, I can't confirm or deny that. What I'm reviewing is my own experience with the product and so far, I like it a whole lot. I love it. It works and sounds great for my tastes. My only beef is that in the pictures it looks like this case is wrapped in something that resembles leather. OF COURSE I know they're not going to use leather (it's only a $100 unit), but I was expecting something a bit higher quality than it is it, basically glued on paper that feels like leather. Long story short. * Great for parties *Great if you're into records and don't want to break the bank on a expensive record player. * Not great if you're a audio snob. (Not saying the audio is bad, it's just not the level of fidelity we're used to in this Dolby surround 7.1 world we live in)

Nice Looks, Terrible Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thinking it would be a nice compact solution to play my 33's on in my tiny apartment. When it arrived though, multiple issues popped up within the first 20 minutes. Firstly, the latch barely works so lifting the thing by the handle can cause it to flop open. Once you open it up, the table is hardly attached to the body, you can see the wiring exposed because of the large gap. I figured I'd try to overlook that and see how it sounded. The needle arm is made of really cheap plastic and flops around, the "click" mechanism that it uses start the table barely works. It takes me a few tries of moving the arm back and forth to get the table moving (it has the same problem shutting off). When I finally got it running, the table isn't level so the needle skips and despite being set to 33, the rpm doesn't sound right (It's a bit too fast). After browsing Amazon's reviews, it seems these aren't uncommon issues with this model. If I could give fewer stars I would, so please be wary of what you're getting when you order.

Lack Of Features, Terrible Software, Low Volume
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Audacity Software is aptly labeled, because they have audacity releasing it. To be fair, the Crosley Traveler is attractive, sturdy, and functional if you just want to play records. The highest end volume is low, but adequate. Sound quality is good. For dormitories, this is perfect. Prominently lacking is no headphone or RCA jack output. Only USB. And the software! You may find yourself creating new profanity. I'm no plebe; I've designed web sites and had computers since the IBM 128K with DOS. The manual is short, inadequate. No support. Default settings are wrong. You're recommended to record in 16 bit, it's set for 64. You want to record in Stereo, the default is set for Mono. I can't get it to play through hardware speakers. You'll lose your sound monitors for no reason. Settings inexplicably re-set themselves. Title input is tedious. You need to import a 3rd party .dll file to export in MP3 format. Multiple settings must be re-set every time you open the program. Best Buy employees will tell you, if you're digitalizing a vinyl collection, don't get this one. Get the Sony.
