It seems like that CEO guy from Crytek is always talking up a storm. First he claims that the PS3 and 360 are not powerful enough, and a next gen console needs to arrive soon (this was 2 years ago). Then he says that the latest Crysis game engine will be the best FPS engine available for a long time (that was last year). Okay, all politics aside, the I've played and beaten the single player campaign, gave the multi-player a chance as well and can say without a doubt...that this game as a whole is just average. The graphics of the game have a lot of visual effects in them (lighting & weather comes to mind), but the frame rates are always 30 fps or below. The story and NPC dialog is abundant in this game...probably too much so, and there are really horrible timing gaps with the way Psycho delivers his lines (I know they were added for dramatic effect, but really fell flat and looked unrealistic to me). I felt like I was only playing this game half the time, and was forced to watch game play out in cut-scenes and in game dialogue the rest of the time. Add to the fact that this game only lasted only about 6-7 hours in the single player campaign, there's not really a good reason (for YOU the lucky person who is reading this review) to buy this game. Gameplay wise, I had a blast fighting the aliens, their movements were quick, random and left me sweating bullets every time I had to face them. The humans on the other hand, are slower than a ton of bricks, but for some reason have such unbelievably magnificent bionic eye sight I felt like I was wearing a bright florescent yellow jumpsuit while walking around in the jungle. Trying out the multi-player section, I see the strong resemblance of this game to COD, but with this game having worse frame rates and larger levels, I forsee all of the cloak campers snipers taking over the servers in a couple of months. After a few hours of giving this portion of the game a chance, it's clear that this game component won't be really popular with the console players (although the PC's players will probably have a ball with this). My recommendation is to rent it, beat the campaign, and return it the next day.

Simply put, this is a great shooting game. Not many are out there like this one. Its unique in its own way and if you haven't played Crysis 1 or 2 like I have, it will tell you everything that has happened from the first, so you wont be lost when you start playing. Online is okay, but I never really buy a game just for the online play. If you want a game with a great story line to it, then buy this game.

One of the best and most immersive first person shooters i've played in a long time. Gives you plenty of options as far as combat and stealth goes. Cool guns, a cloaking device, armor enhancements, heat/x-ray vision. The controls are clean, the story is cool, and the shooting is really fun. Plus, you get a bow. One of my personal favorites since Turok the Dinosaur Hunter on N64.

Crysis is a series known for its graphical fidelity and Crysis 3 doesn't fail to live up to this reputation. For hardware this late in its lifecycle it is really impressive to see graphics of this quality on a console. In terms of gameplay though the game doesn't offer a lot of innovation over Crysis 2; however, it is still a solid FPS worth checking out if you are a fan of the genre.

The game play is good.. the Story is beginning to bore me. Same scenario as a previous post on "the last of us" game I played. I don't know what it is about games these days but it seems you are putting too much weight into the graphics and not enough into a powerful story that can make a game. Try Lucas Arts .. Outlaws... now that is a story!

I love video games, but with my busy schedule I don't play much. I needed new games so asked around for recommendations and this game was the outcome. I played it and I actually really enjoyed it. It's hard for me to focus on a game if I don't like it. But I couldn't stop playing.

It was ok, kind of boring honesty. Most of the nanosuit upgrades were kind of useless. I enjoyed the second game more. Luckily I got it pretty cheap. Probably won't replay it.( I'm referring to the story mode only, multi player wasn't attempted)

I really enjoyed Crysis 2 so this was a going to be a purchase no matter what. Luckily I was patient and waited until it was a Deal of the Day with BB. It is well worth the money even now. Great game and fun.
