Anyone considering the purchase of a Cuisinart product should know this is not a company that stands behind its products. Last December I used part of my Christmas money to purchase this Cuisinart hand mixer. I've only used it a handful of times. The last time I used it, it started smelling really hot; to the degree I was afraid it would catch fire. I turned it off and finished my task in my KitchenAid stand mixer. I called Cuisnart's customer service to learn that, while my mixer is under warranty, the warranty does not cover any shipping costs. They require me to pay $10 for them to ship me a new mixer and to cover the cost of returning the defective product. REALLY? So basically, I should pay more for a defective product than one that performs as promised. I'm thinking not. I don't expect a company to be perfect, but I do expect them to stand behind their products. I have had defective products from both KitchenAid and Keurig, but I would absolutely buy them again without hesitation. Both companies were extremely helpful and replaced the defective product at their expense. Not mine. I will say, however, that I am very pleased with Best Buy. Even though their return policy is only 30 days, when I took the product there and explained the situation, they far exceeded my expectations. I really didn't expect them to be able to do anything. Not only did they take the mixer back, they issued me a gift card in the amount of what I paid so I'm not obligated to replace it with the same product, and I won't. I don't think its worth the risk. No more Cuisinart products for me.

I had a very old hand mixer with very little power in it. This Cuisinart hand mixer is absolutely perfect. Mixes puddings and eggs in a very short time. Great replacement product.
