Customers express satisfaction with the 850VA Battery Back-Up System's long battery life, reliable performance, and effective surge protection. Many appreciate its reasonable price, ample outlets, and ease of use, finding it straightforward to set up and operate. The unit's size is also frequently praised as manageable. A minor drawback mentioned by some customers is the system's weight.
I wanted a power backup to avoid nuisance power resets for an office setup of a computer, monitor, modem, voip telephone, and small computer speakers. As i had no method to measure actual power, i added up the claimed power ratings on each device with a resulting range of (600,870) watts. (energy = power * time) Using the CyberPower LE850G energy storage spec meant it should last for 3-4 minutes at this power level so i decided to take a chance on it given the price was good relative to some other products and had the right number of battery backup outlets for me. (note that not all the outlets are battery backups, this was the least expensive model that had enough for me.) After adding the ups to my system, it turns out that the software can report actual power use and my actual power use if about 10% of what i thought it was going to be based on adding the individual component power ratings as mentioned above. The end result is that the claimed battery backup time is about 30 to 40 minutes, which is enough for me. (note that i'm not trying to keep my system powered for hours as i'm assuming i'll always be around to take action as needed. however, the software can be set to turn off the computer when the battery is drained to a certain level, so it is reassuring that the computer will shut down gracefully even if i'm not there.) all in all, very pleased with resulting backup time suitable for my low-end home office needs without having to spend thousands of dollars for a larger ups. and, it was a good laugh to have done the math but reality meant a much better end result. your mileage (and math) may vary.

I have this mounted on the wall in a network closet for a school. It should provide 90 minutes or more of uptime for the one switch attached and the POE injectors for the WiFi network in the building.

I'm really enjoying my new Samsung 7" tablet. It's size is perfect for a carry along. I'll use it a lot when I don't need my laptop or need just a little more than my cell phone. The screen is very sharp and there are lots of apps you can use with it. Streaming movies is a breeze and makes watching a pleasant experience. I haven't explored all it's capabilities yet but I'm looking forward to seeing the many things it can do.
