A Giant Leap Foward
|Posted .I replaced my old D-Link DL-624 router with the DIR-890 and was impressed by just how much progress D-Link has made in the past several years. The speed is phenomenal. I have FiOs 75/75 service and observe that I can get upwards of 35 Mbps up/down on my iPad. This is about 5-10 times faster than my previous D-Link router. In addition, I was able to plug in a USB3.0 hard drive into the router to serve as a DLNA media server for my home movies and TiVo recordings. This feature is a real bonus. The footprint of this unit is significantly larger than any of its predecessors. Because the router shares space with a large switch, VoIP box, and the external drive, I wound up buying a cheap monitor stand to elevate the DIR-890 a few inches above the other equipment. The router was easy to configure and I could set quality of service for key IPs around the house. Like my first Router, D-Link continues to provide a great router that has advanced our home up to the next level of Internet performance.

Best router I've used to date.
|Posted .I've had several wired and wireless routers throughout the years. This one puts them all to shame. I have a two story house with just over 3,000 sqft....I receive full signal throughout house with exception of far downstairs corner (that's 4 bars). I pay for 50mb service and pull 62mb speeds wired and wireless. This router has been a great upgrade for my network. Zero issues so far and it's been running nonstop for 2 months.

Love it but its huge!
|Posted .Had the unit installed and running for about 5 weeks all is good. Really easy setup and I love the way it looks! I hung it at the top of my basement stairs to centralize it in my colonial.

Good but missing some options others have.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGood- Easy to set up, at this point no dropped connections, good signal, good interface, doesn't feel cheap. Bad- what keeps me from giving it 5 stars is the fact that if you are a network guru and like assigning IP's to your devices you can only assign 20 devices. With todays world most homes have more than 20 clients. On Dlink's blog they suggest that you assign a static ip from the device itself. Problem with that is in the world of mobile devices 20 is nothing and who wants to have to change ip address info when you leave home and once again when arriving back home. I sure wish they would change this. Only other issue GUI freezes up some times and you have to close and reopen. Lastly I wish they would change the time out screen, it is much to quick. SO- if you don't play with your routers too much it would be great, if you like playing you might want to wait to see if they make changes.

Get wifi in your yard
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAwesome router. Expensive but my last router was a N+ router bought 6 years ago and I don't upgrade very often. This red alien ship will carry the load for many years to come. I also get strong wifi in my front and back yard with no drop-offs which is great streaming music will working in the yard. Our home has about 8 devices running on wifi including PS4, Tivo, cell phones, iPads, printer and home security system. We have not encountered any slow down whatsoever and never a drop off sine installed.

Mother of all routers
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWe live in a house built in 1926. 2-story with a finished attic. In the past I've tried several routers, power lines, extenders. Always had a dead spot at the far end of the house. Unfortunately, that was the TV room. I would have spotty wireless signal. Way to weak to stream Netflix on TV. Spotty signal to the 3rd floor office & stereo listening room as well. Bought the D-Link - AC3200 Ultra Wireless-AC Wi-Fi Router and was I glad I did. Easy set up to say the least. Within minutes I was up & running. Strong signal to all areas of our home. Able to enjoy Netflix with no issues at all. 3rd floor great signal too. Even able to use out in my Harley Shed 125 feet from house. Buy this, it rocks...

This is my last router purchase ever
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendLove the modern design. While the design is what I really like most about this particular router, its functionality is what got me to purchase it. I had been having problems with wifi range and connection at our house consisting of multiple iphones, ipads, roku, and gaming stations (ie, lan parties). I got fed up with my wifi problems so I was prompted to make a purchase where I wouldn’t have to deal with those issues any further. Range increased outwards to the backyard for bbq’s and I was also able to surf normally on my ipad by the pool (where I had not been able to before with my tp link). Bandwidth efficiency has greatly improved (no d/c, lag, etc)--now I can have friends and family over for lan parties with peace of mind! Finally! Thank you QoS!! I’m pretty sure I won’t be needing any router upgrades for the foreseeable future. Highly recommended.

DLINK AC 3200
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis router performs as advertised. I WAN download speed is 310mbps the router is connected to the WAN modem. The AC signal is with my devices is constant between 450 - 875. Wireless devices like my TV, DVR and DVD all work at a much more consistent rate. I have 3 computers connected to the Ethernet ports and all systems have incredible through put. The router is great.

Q: Questioncan I attach my external antenna?I currently have a model DIR-615 D-link router with a DWL-M60AT external antenna screwed onto the threaded fitting where one of the on board antennas attaches. Will I be able to use this external antenna with this AC3200 router?
Asked by yuled.
- A:Answer No not really. The Dlink AC 3200 dose not have any points where you may be able to connect any antenna. The unit does come with 6 antennas that can be positioned based on your environment.

Q: QuestionDoes this router work with Cox Cable? If it does, will I still need to use the router that Cox supplies?
Asked by Badd.
- A:Answer I don't have Cox; I have UVerse, which supplies the worst router known to man when you sign up with them. Their router was incapable of handling my devices so the service was awful, streaming almost impossible and (after many service calls) they told me that their equipment was not designed to handle all of my devices (??). They advised me to get a separate router to handle the load. I purchased the Dlink, routed everything through this router except the Uverse TV and everything works fine now. In short, if it works with Uverse and does the job, it will work with any other provider. I know this is a roundabout way to answer your question but whenever I can get warnings out about Uverse, I will.
