A Real Timesaver
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is the third Danby countertop dishwasher that I've bought. It cleans great with just rinsing off beforehand, there's an ample cycle selection and I like the push button feature. The stainless steel interior was a selling feature as is the low water use, about 3 gallons for a normal cycle. I do wish it had an air dry option however. I was able to lift it onto the counter myself so it's a little lighter in weight than my previous models, this is a good thing. Setup is very easy although the interior did have that odd chemical-plastic smell at first but that has dissipated with use. It arrived dented on the sides and in the back which is the fault of the shipper not the manufacturer. Since this shouldn't impair function, I didn't return it. I've used it many times for regular and heavy duty loads and have nothing but compliments on its performance.

Good for my needs
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI had been toying with the idea of buying a portable dishwasher for over a year since I have an old house with metal cabinets and no setup for a drop in dishwasher. I hate washing dishes by hand more than all chores combined including scrubbing the toilet. When I finally decided to take the plunge I went to best buy so that I could speak with an actual person. After the kind and patient Associate spent an hour helping me compare the various options I decided on the Danby because of the price point and other reviews. So far I am happy with my choice. It is a quiet machine that does just what the manufacturer promises. You MUST read and obey the instructions; especially in using a rinse aid. I only need to use mine twice a week. I have not experienced any problems with operating the machine. It has life easier for me and I am so grateful that I was able to get this dishwasher. I do recommend watching some installation videos as you have to make sure the faucet adapter fits properly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the size is bigger than I envisioned. Overall it has been a worthwhile investment.

Great for small spaces
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have rheumatoid arthritis and washing dishes was becoming torture on me so I started looking for a dishwasher, as I'm renting a built in model was out and the portable ones were expensive and hard to find. I got this countertop model at a good price and it works great. I wish it was taller so it was more efficient, I have to wash some things by themselves because you cant stand them up you have to lay them flat and one pan fills the dishwasher when this happens. I've had mine just about 2 months and I love it, wish I would have bought one much sooner.

Great dishwasher for small apartment
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI absolutely cannot stand washing dishes and rented an apartment without one, since the apartment is small I thought I would take a chance and by a counter-top model. This little washer gets my dishes clean every time. A great buy for a dish washing hater.

this machine is great!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBefore this arrived, it seemed like we were doing dishes all day long on the weekends. This Danby is great! The dishes come out cleaner than when we did them by hand, it's quiet enough that we can still talk in the kitchen, and we're saving a lot of unpleasant time. One curious thing is that the first one arrived with a giant dent on the side even though the box was not damaged. But BestBuy sent us a new one right away and paid for the return shipping of the bad one, so it all worked out in the end.

Excellent
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a great appliance for the price. So far it's been great. I did purchase the extended warranty cause I was not familiar with the manufacture of the appliance but no problems so far. It's very easy to set up and is great for those you don't want a regular sized portable dishwasher. This dishwasher is just as effective and way cheaper. I'd highly recommend it.

Perfect for Two
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this counter top dishwasher because I hate hand washing dishes, and to put in a full sized dishwasher would have cost too much. It leaked from the output hose the first time we used it, but we used a little bit of Teflon tape and we haven't had a problem since. It is small, and our bowls don't seem to fit right in it, but it is great for plates and silverware. I recommend rinsing well first to make sure all food debris is removed for the best clean.

LIFE SAVER!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis baby does a great job and saves me so much time! I don't know why I didn't buy this earlier! Its great for me and my husband! The only complaints I would have would be that it doesn't have a drying feature, and it takes 2 hours and 20 minutes for the heaviest cycle. But this isnt a deal breaker for us! Be careful if taking the dishes out right after the cycle is complete those puppies are HOT! Don't waste time hand washing! BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Q: QuestionDoes the unit come with an outlet hose to run the water from the dishwasher to the sink?
Asked by Kevin.
- A:Answer Two hoses hook up to the faucet using A SINGLE quick-connect fitting that attaches to the output of the faucet. One hose delivers water to the dishwasher, and the second drains it into the sink from the single fitting (just like when a faucet is running with the water is on)

Q: Questiondoes the dishwasher come with the hose for the facuet?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, this unit ships with a quick connect hose & adapter to hook the dishwasher up to your faucet.

Q: Questionhow long is the hose?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It's about 5 feet total but 20" or so stays behind the unit. The hose connections are on the right backside of the dishwasher. If you place the dishwasher to the left of your sink you would gain most of that 20". I put mine on a rolling cart. I can get it as close as needed without blocking the sink and store it off to the side when not in use.

Q: QuestionDo I have to buy a special screw on adapter for the faucet to fit the hose setup?
Asked by Jayne.
- A:Answer No it comes with one. I had to remove the twist-off cap that was on mine and install the new one which allows for the adapter. The only downside is that the included adapter does not level-out the water flow the way most sinks do, so rather than a normal sink pressure you end up with a jet of water that comes out pretty forcibly. It's only annoying if you forget and turn the water on all the way, but it is something to be aware of.

Q: Questionwhat is the recommended water temperature to use with this unit?i'm worried I may need to increase the temperature on my hot water heater to use this properly.
Asked by Jayman.
- A:Answer I don't think you will need to adjust water temperature, unless your thermostat is set really low. Run the tap till the water gets really hot. Then connect the dishwasher. The unit has a built in heater that heats the water to about 150 degrees. That's the hottest it will get. It is enough to get dishes clean, although you may need to rinse the larger chunks of food off dishes before loading. Hope that helps.

Q: QuestionBelow countertop use?Would this work and drain properly if it was used below the countertop? I only have 15" available above my countertop. If I placed it in a base cabinet, would it function properly? Would it create a tremendous amount of humidity/dampness if enclosed in a base cabinet?
Asked by Tammy.
- A:Answer Hello Tammy, The unit has an integrated pump, so it will work from under the counter, however, please note that we do not recommend to install the unit directly to the water line as the pressure may damage the motor. The unit most be connected to a regular faucet. Also, we do not recommend you to enclose the unit as it produces moisture.
