Darksiders II: The Deathinitive Edition - PlayStation 4

Darksiders II: The Deathfinitive Edition is really out there for those who have not played it and hardcore fans of the series. I played through this originally on the Xbox 360, and I'd consider myself a big fan of the series. If you have already played this and are not the type to play through games multiple times, you could pass. For new gamers, I'm giving it a 4 as a whole. Don't expect mind blowing next gen graphics. It's looks good, but obviously a remaster. It certainly looks cleaner and the lighting looks nice, but nothing like some of the work done on other remastered games this generation. The gameplay is a bit faster but response can dip when the visual effects get under a heavy load. Those new to the series that like Zelda and God of War games will find a nice mix of the two here with some light RPG elements and unlockables that game access to new areas. Also, it seems like an odd release unless they are gauging interest in a sequel...so if you want to see more Darksiders, you may want to support this release and throw some money at it. There's a lot of fun to be had here.

A nice remaster of Darksiders 2. Graphics are much improved from the previous generation versions. Frame rates are higher. Same great hack and slash gameplay with Diabloesque loot system.

The best console version of Darksiders 2 by far. The fun puzzles, Zelda-inspired dungeons and darker themes remain as fun as ever, but the update to the games graphical fidelity is minimal. Had they been able to get it running at 60 fps it would have been one of my favorite remasters. Worth it for the budget price, but only if you don't own the original version.

Good game-- not great. Graphis are improved, but other than, the differences aren't that noticeable. I guess you can get DLC armor and weapons in the game world, but would have been nice to start with them....and be stacked from the get-go. If you've already played before, not much reason to buy again outside of next gen graphics.

I had played the game on steam a bit originally but ran into a bug and never tried again. Saw this come out and recalled liking the general idea and the first game and figured a remake with updated graphics and all on top of being reasonably priced was worth a try. Didn't regret it at all. The game is much longer with more content than expected and fun to play. It looks great on the ps4 and runs smoothly. Certainly worth grabbing if you never played it before.

If you didn't get a chance to play the first Darksiders, you definitely need to treat yourself by purchasing this one. The game play is awesome and the storyline is amazing. I had already played both years ago, but after I found out that Sony released a ps4 version I had to go back and play it again. Hours of great gameplay. You won't be disappointed. Easily one of my favorites of all time if you're into action/adventure games.

Fun to play just like the first one.. A must buy for any collector

Darksiders 2 is a great game, but only on last gen consoles (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3). This new port for the PS4 and Xbox One is a buggy mess. The game crashes within minutes of play and it's not just me, it's everybody. These crashes occur to everybody and it's a poorly ported game so make sure you play Darksiders 2, but only on last gen consoles as you will be infuriated after defeating a boss only for a crash to occur as soon as the killing animation occurs and makes you restart the whole fight again. Do not buy unless you are okay replaying the same segments multiple times.
