Dash - 2-Quart Greek Yogurt Maker - White/Blue

This little guy has made yogurt making such an easy task. Once you heat your milk, let it cool and add your cultures, it's all a matter of set it and forget it from that point on. The device has a variable timer that you can set yourself, so you keep your yogurt incubating for 8 hours or 10 hours, whichever you prefer. Another nice thing is it comes with a yogurt strainer and two containers which are large enough to hold up to 5 cups of milk/yogurt (and also nest in each other when not in use). One is for incubating the yogurt, the other is used for straining. The only thing i've found a little annoying is that the strainer doesn't quite hold the full 5 cups of yogurt that is made. It piles over the rim, so you'll need to wait a few minutes for some of the whey to strain first before dumping the last few spoonfuls in. Not that big a deal though, so other than that, it's great that the yogurt maker came with all this. The yogurt that comes out depends on the starter you used and the amount of time that it's incubating for, but so far we've used it several times and have had good results each time. Great purchase.

I buy store brand yoghurt as a starter for the yoghurt I make, and I have found that the yoghurt I make with the Dash Yogurt Maker tastes much better than the starter. I recommend the product for that reason. Prospective buyers should know, though, that it is quite time-consuming to make the yoghurt, and you need a food thermometer. It is also recommended you use a double-boiler.

It makes great Greek yogurt, but the down side is the strainer and container it drains into is too small. You have to let the strainer drain to make room, and then fill in with what you have left.

I never made yogurt before. I bought it because I had gift certificate and wanted to make some healthy stuff. But before you buy it, just make sure you have a thermometer to check temperature of warm milk so you can get perfect yogurt

Works fine and makes great yogurt, but wish it would hold more liquid and make more yogurt at once. If you're making Greek, it gives you anywhere between 1-1/2 to 2 cups only. Otherwise great product for the price you pay!

Have made 5 batches so far all using non-fat milk and am very happy with the results.

The yogurt maker works well- the temperature is pretty stable and the end product is always consistent when the recipe is kept constant. The timer is useful and the provided containers large enough to make enough yogurt for a family.

I have made yogurt using the oven method, crock pot method and cooler method. So far, I have had my BEST results from this yogurt maker. I think it's because it keeps the temp consistent the entire time. The Greek yogurt strainer is worth the price itself. No more straining though cheese cloth and figuring out a way to hang it while it strains. BTW, you still have to heat your milk to 180-185 degrees on your stove or in your microwave. I have yet to find a yogurt maker that heats the milk for you. Even so, this yogurt maker saves me a LOT of time as once you put your milk in it, you can set the timer and walk away conident you're going to get great results.
