Great Game
|Posted .One of the best games I've played in a long time. I like it on the switch but it's also available on xbox and ps4. Wherever you can play it if you like permadeath (with some progression through carry over items) with random generated levels then you will absolutely love this game.
I would recommend this to a friend- Pros mentioned:Fun

Excellent in all ways
|Posted .Pros mentioned:FunOh how pretty these pixel are. It feels visually more like Castlevania, but elevates the aesthetic with some really solid lighting effects, depth and animation. Instead of roguelike, it’s rogue-lite. There’s no turn based battle, but the levels are procedurally generated, meaning: nothing is in the same place when you die. And you’ll die often, starting over at the beginning, losing (almost) everything in your inventory. But as you go along, getting a little farther each time, you’re also gaining some traits that are permanent, like health restoration potions you can use once, then twice and so on. It’s a totally different approach to gaming for me. I’m usually a point A to point B kinda player, but this encourages getting better at going with the flow, identifying patterns and honing tactics. Super enjoyable.

It's aight
|Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendThe game is very rouge-lite mixed with Castlevania-esque mechanics with a dash of blinding Christmas lights. If you like that sort of thing, this could be right up your alley. I enjoyed it- to a degree. The game is fairly grindy. To get good weapons and skills you need to play for hours- and when I first got the game I was really into that. But, after trying to pick the game back up again, I really wasn't. After awhile the game is really just doing the same thing over and over again to progress. So, I would say that the game is really enjoyable for the first twenty or so hours, but then takes a hard plunge unless you're really obsessed with it. The game run fine on the Switch and I didn't have any issues, although this is just the base game. The DLC has to be bought through the Switch store- where it is the most expensive of all versions.

I am addicted
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendHonestly, I never heard of this game at all nor even knew it existed. My friend gave me this game as a suggestion and I said "what the heck, let's try it". 3 weeks later, and I cannot stop playing it. It is the perfect combination of anger, frustration and rage quiting and at the same time relief and accomplishment. You are going to die. Period. That's the point of the game. I quote Cleveland from Family Guy "You don't win, you just do a little better every time" and it's so true. When you die, you start over from the very beginning, BUT anything you unlock (weapons, mutations, etc) carries over to the new game and you get this urge to see how you can go "this time" around. It's such a great side scrolling platformer with an interesting story arc. I highly recommend this to anyone's Switch Library.
