Great game, still a bit glitchy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game overall. If you love killing zombies, you'll love dead island. It's fairly challenging and great for multiple players. This one is very similar to the first, but the updates are nice. Having missions from the survivors on your team is a new facet that I'm only beginning to appreciate. The same throwing weapons glitch appears in this game. So far, the private and public slots are glitched. My friend and I were placed in someone else's game where many missions past where I was at had been completed. This caused a glitch that made the missions complete for me without getting the rewards. Also made some quest items glitchy.

Could have been Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't get the chance to play the first game so I won't be able to compare the two or say about the improvements since the first. The story was mediocre and some of the NPCs were kinda annoying and have no personality, so there was no reason to care for them at all. The loots were great and kept me coming back to look for more but it was very frustrating when your items disappear from time to time. I didn't like the checkpoint save system cause it's an RPG you should be able to save whenever you want and whenever you quit then come back to play again you'll be respawned at the place where you took the main quest, very annoying. I liked the coop system, it was smooth and fun playing with friends and strangers. The game was kinda easy with no real challenge at all and every time you die you'll respawn at a near location and the only penalty is cash, and the exploits in the continuous quests made the game really easy also since you can buy it. Bosses were too easy in Dead Zones you can just throw molotovs/grenade or shoot them at a distance and they won't attack you. The AIs were useless during defending points and you'll have to do all the heavy lifting 90% at a time. The main point of this game is killing zombies and they achieved it. I enjoyed the game but there was some bugs and some glitches along the way that hinders the experience but overall it was a great game. 7.8/10

I enjoy it...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of people seem to either love the DI series or hate it. You either enjoy certain aspects of it like trying to remain undetected and modifying your weapons, or you are upset that its not a game where you go around lobbing an unlimited supply of bombs to take out 100 zombies every 3 seconds. I am in the former category. I will say that DI has had its share of glitches can be infuriating, but DI:R seemed to address them pretty well.

Solid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game does little to improve upon the original but thats not a bad thing. Some minor improvements and added weapons and an extra character. Story line is almost non existent but there are ''group defense battles'' this time around that break up the single player action. If you liked the first one pick this one up.

If you were into the original, you'll be into this
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you enjoyed the first Dead Island, you will enjoy Riptide. Still the "go here and get me this" quest set up, which isn't bad, but does get a little repetitive. You can transfer over your original Dead Island character which I thought was pretty cool; so much like a second play through on the original but in a new world. And of course, the zombies will be on par with what ever your imported character's level is, so be warned. Graphics aren't the best at times, like when there's a ton of zombies around; but again, if you've played the first one, you'll be used to that as well. About like any other, or most other sequels, much like the original, but different. And for $10.00, you about can't go wrong. Oh, and the online multiplayer story mode with your friends is still super fun too.

Exceptional zombie killer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game- 4.5 out of 5! The graphics are great, weapon mods, etc. etc. That's not what makes it exceptional, however. The thing that puts this one ahead of the pack, is its re-playability. There are tons of missions- the game starts you off pretty stingy on weapons, though. But, "All good things come to those who wait." Eventually, you're a juggernaut taking on mixed hordes with an arsenal of impressive (and rare) weapons. On your second trip through the quest- you will cruise. But you feel as though you've earned your improved fortunes. My only gripe are the default controls. You acclimate to them soon enough, if you played the first one.
