Dead Space Extraction - Nintendo Wii

I would suggest you rent this rail shooter. It's fun and it's a little more involved than your usual railshooter. You get to know what seems to be a sub-story prequel to the original game and the movie (Dead Space: Downfall). The weapons are the same (except for an additional rivet gun) but overall, this game plays more like a story with occasional encounters and battles. After 1 or 2 finishes of the game, you'll be wanting to boost the difficulty level as high as possible since the game tends to be fairly easy for most gamers. After finishing it the 1st time around, the replayability and funness starts to wear off during the 2nd and 3rd go round. There are interesting unlockable comics that go with the game so you can learn more about the Dead Space mythos, but I found $50+ just to be a bit too steep for what was offered, especially for a Wii exclusive game. We are talking about the Wii here and sometimes, graphics can mean a lot to a game. It's hard to just swallow the fact that the game is 480p at its best. All in all, it's a good game, but not for the price it's listed as.

Gameplay: 5/5 Standard Rail Shooter but the movement of the camera makes it feel like you are in the game. The teamwork involved is amazing. At times one player will have to solder a circuit while the other will have to fend off the attacking horde of enemies. The story is great and is the prequel to the xbox360 Dead Space. This game will not scare you but it will give you chills up your spine and mess with your head. Difficulty: 4.5/5 With two players this game can be kind of easy. The difficulty ranges from easy to hard and then impossible. if you are new to video games or just average then you will find this game normal to you. Graphics: 4/5 These graphics are top of the line for the Wii. the lighting effects and character design are great. They just aren't as smooth and detailed as the 360 version. But the sound is amazing and will creep you out, especially when you have voices talking in your head. Overall: 5/5 The games story mode is great and once you play that ten times you might get bored. If so, there is an arcade mode which is just your classic shoot em up without a story and you go just for score. A great game with a creepy feeling that puts you into the game.

I think this is a great game but it was not what I expected, which is a good thing. Being an "on-rail light gun" shooter, I expected something more like House of the Dead:Overkill which emphasized more on the fun and aimless shooting, getting high points, and less on the cheesy story. Instead, Dead Space Extraction immerses you in a slow developing story that really creeps you out. Because of this, the game is perhaps best played by a single player, with a some patience (as each chapter runs kinda long with a lot of dialogue) and with the mindset that you are participating in a movie. This is not a simple shoot-everything-in-sight game. It is actually a great experience but probably not something I would go back to again and again.

My husband plays Dead Space on PS3 and loves it-I saw this and thought my own game. I really enjoy the graphics and it is pretty easy to learn the controls. For the price-it is not so bad and it does make you help relieve alot of stress being able to shoot the aliens--lol Really about the only thing I would change would being able to turn around and pick up something you missed.

This is a good one to pick up especially if you can get a good deal. The characters are involving and expressive. The story keeps your interest. Some of the boss fights are pretty difficult especially if you have limited weaponry. Highly recommended and one of the best games for the Wii in 2009.

DEAD SPACE EXTRACTION needs to be on all consoles.
