Funny but relevant movie
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This is a funny, but relevant movie about how one group of people view others via stereotypes.

Dear White People...Really Everybody, LISTEN UP!
||Posted .Dear White People is a shining example of pure creativity and being socially focused. The film focuses on a group of college students from different cliques, who all begin to realize that they share one of the same plights being...racism/accepted racial separation. The way that subject is addressed and examined in a fresh way by a fresh voice is astounding. Any key topic going on like: LGBT awareness, interracial dating, internalized racism and beauty standards are all discussed with wit and honesty. Dear White People also showcases some of the best young actors, destined to become the next generation of greats. This is definitely a movie to see because the conversations afterwards need to be had.

Hot Button Satire
||Posted ."Dear White People" is a film that hits a chord and with good reason. Given the news one hears in the news about racial inequality, it seemed almost serendipitous for "Dear White People" to shine a light on it in the most controversial place possible: a prestigious and (no pun intended) "white bread" university. The jokes and heart hit fast and hard while asking its audience to think long and hard about where race relations have gone and where they need to go. Tessa Thompson is an actress who will definitely go far.

Why can't we all just get along!
||Posted .I loved the inclusion of the gay character, it adds depth to the movie. It would seem on this campus that bullying is a way of life and the fact that the deans child can run things seemingly without consequences just baffled my mind. I love to see movies that are uplifting and teach good life lessons and in a few ways this movie filled the bill!

Over all it was funny everyone should check it out
||Posted .This movie was great if you ask me, it touched on stereotypes that most people hold of African Americans including the struggle that african Americans face within their own culture. For some people they may have to watch it more then once to completely understand

Great watch
||Posted .I watched this film for a diversity assignment for a class I am taking. I was not expecting this film to be as thought provoking as it was. Racism was viewed through a fresh perspective, one that I have not seen portrayed on film before. If you are on the fence about watching this film, go for it!

good for a watch
||Posted .It turned out to be a different movie from what I expected but still enjoyed it. More of a dramedy than stariaght comedy, it still offfers plenty of jokes and poignant commentary.

Smart, funny movie.
||Posted .What do I say abut this movie? Being a African American it made me think about some of the issues in the movie. But when it comes down to it, just a movie not that serious. Smart and funny movie all the same.
