This film comes from a period in the early 1970s where filmmakers were turning out urban thrillers that were very dark, gritty, even brutal. "Death Wish" is a premere example of this genre, an influential film that is definitely not for all tastes. But I am surprised and happy to see this released on Blu-ray with a SteelBook case.

I remember seeing this as a teenager, it was brutal I mean more than "Dirty Harry" brutal. A tour de force performance from Charles Bronson he should of won an Oscar for his performance. It's probably his greatest performance in his long career. Jeff Goldblume was brutal.
