never was a big fan of female fronted metal/rock bands but things change over time. i bought the cd the day it came out- the digipak version with bonus tracks and a booklet inside. first cd i bought of theirs was unleashed memories with halflife ep included back in 2000 great cd. this one is just as good even though a few members left the band both cristina and andrea are still on it. which pretty much says it all - the back and forth of the male/female vocals are great. even has a cover of a madonna song haha dont care much for cover songs their cover of an R.E.M. song is the only song i dont listen to when i spin their cds. this cover is okay though. have most of their cds.dont have in a reverie or the self titled ep. overall if you enjoyed their last few cds broken crown halo or comalies you will enjoy this one as well cristina has an awesome voice

Italian Metal Pioneers Lacuna Coil have redefined themselves with their latest release, Delirium. They succeed in demonstrating that this band has no boundaries. Harder and heavier than they've been in years - maybe ever. Andrea Ferro's growls and Cristina Scabbia's soaring vocals enhance the dark feel of this record. New drummer Ryan Folden contributes greatly to the album's punch as his double-bass drum rhythms are perfectly matched with bassist Marco Coti-Zelati's riffs. Coti-Zelati also acts as the producer on his album as well as performing most of the guitar parts. Special guest guitarists on this record include Myles Kennedy and touring 7-string guitarist Diego Cavoletti. If you only buy one metal album in 2016, you can't go wrong with this one.

Not terrible, but it's no Comalies

I hate to sound cliched, but in this case it really is true...their old stuff is better. So yeah, Lacuna Coil has been floundering around with this pop-rock sound for about a decade–and I won't lie, I do like SOME of it–but for the most part it's forgettable. The same goes with their latest outing, "Delirium." I much prefer the slower, more brooding style of "Unleashed Memories" and "Comalies"...but hey, what can you do? If you're looking for some female-fronted rock, you could do worse than this band (but you could also do better).

They have changed from primarily Christina's vocals and duos to more male primary singing. Additionally they have progressed towards screaming metal instead of strong vocals they are known for. All in all, while I bought it and like several songs it's a disappointment compared to any of their other albums. I would recommend checking out Beyond The Black as they remind me a lot of Lacuna Coil at its best.

I really like this album and it is a rather heavy affair. Probably the band's heaviest album to date. I gave this album 4 stars and not 5, because as good as this album was, I wish the band would return to the European Gothic roots that brought them to the big time. I felt those elements were lacking on this album, but the crunchy riffs and heavy rhythms more than made up for lack of the bands old sound.

Led by the vocals of Andrea Ferro and Cristina Scabbia, Lacuna Coil brings their style of Goth metal from Italy to the world on this new release. This release, their eighth, is the first to feature a new lineup, as three members left the group prior to recording. Loud, pounding, and great for head banging, it also features a guest appearance from Altar Bridge guitarist Myles Kennedy.

Lacuna Coil has created many great albums over the years, but sadly this one is not up to their usual excellence. I wish I had read a review before purchase. While the music is hard and aggressive, it had too much growling and screaming and not enough of the melodies I have come to expect in their previous recordings. I would recommend this for only the die hard fan of Lacuna Coil.

I have always liked Lacuna Coil and I certainly don't mind dark themes and tones, but they have taken the death metal vocals too far on this one. There isn't enough of Cristina's vocals on this album, which is what first drew me to this band on the first place. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad album, but if they continue in this direction I will probably abandon ship.
