I was leary of a refurb, thinking it might be dirty, scratched up, messed up software. Exact opposite. It looks pristine, with a slight mar on the bottom that you really have to look for. The software install went smoothly, and I was up and running within about an hour (the biggest problem was passwords to various applications). Moving up from an Inspiron-class machine to this is like night and day. When I looked at task manager on my 3-year-old Inspiron, the disk was always pegged at 100, and memory and CPU were also high. On this machine, there's never more than a blip, with memory about 25% from windows processes. The display is awesome. I have not tried out the battery life, which I read reviews on refurbs as being a lot shorter than a new one. For what I paid, I got a lot more memory and CPU than what I would have got for the same money for a new machine. Would do it again.
