Pros: -1440p on a 24 inch display looks downright gorgeous, really crisp and overall a pleasing sight. -165hz is the biggest reason for purchasing a monitor such as this, as it is the highest refresh rate you will find on a 1440p monitor. -Colors are very good looking out of the box, can be tweaked to near perfection with a combination of options in the OSD and Nvidia Control Panel. -No backlight bleed, which is something you will mainly find on IPS displays anyways but I have read reviews where people did get it on this monitor, perhaps its a rare thing? -No clouding (cloud-like white patches on certain areas of the screen), viewing dark scenes in games or movies looks natural and not off putting in anyway. -Gsync, one of the best technologies to have on a monitor these days. The perceived smoothness you get from using this is amazing, regardless of how low or high your framerate is. It is also much less buggy than Freesync, well worth the "gsync tax" the AMD cultists talk about. -Bezels on this thing are T H I N N, not to mention the whole monitor just has this really clean look that doesn't scream "XTREEEEEME GAMEEEEER", it's more like a subtle "Hi, I'm a monitor". -PRICE, for what you get you just can't beat it, period. Cons: -Power button/LED is a bright white and can easily be seen when using the monitor, and there is no way to turn it off in the OSD. Best fix I know of is to take a piece of black electrical tape and slap it over the LED. -When the computer is shut down or the monitor loses signal in general, it takes a good 30 seconds for the screen to actually turn off. People have told me to turn off power saving mode, but there is no difference between it being it on and off other than the message displayed for the first 15 seconds. Final Thoughts: For roughly the same price of this monitor, you can go with either 1080p 240hz or 4k 60hz, you sacrifice resolution for refresh rate or refresh rate for resolution, and in my opinion you will not regret going with the middle ground of 1440p 165hz.

Design is great. Super thin bezels. Very sleek design look if you don't like the gaming look of other brands. Setup was super easy no tools needed. First one I got had a group of pixels that were stuck on blue ish color. Returned to BB. Exchanged no problems. The new monitor has no screen issues. Go to the website lightbleedtest dot com to check the panel. No serious light bleed from the edges. I have never had an IPS panel so I don't know what I'm missing in terms of color reproduction but the colors look great. Used the ICC color profile from pcmonitor/info and I think the colors look great. Follow his screen calibation guide and it just looks great. Toms hardware also has a calibration if you think that looks better. G Sync. First time ever playing with it and after experiencing it can't go back. Everything is super smooth. No screen tears or stuttering. I have an alienware 17 r3 (w/4k screen), graphics amp and an EVGA 1080 FTW. I thought I would miss playing at 4k but 1440p looks great combined with G Sync. People have been talking about pixel inversion. I had to look this up. I guess when you scroll on a Web page or look up and down quick there can be a grid pattern. I haven't noticed any of that. Windows scaling looks fine at 1440p. The screen has a light anti glare coating. So you don't have a sparkle effect on white backgrounds. Overall love the monitor. Get the BB plan for 50 bucks for 4 years. Totally worth it.

My favorite monitor. It goes on sale fairly often. Great specs 1ms gtg response time (Grey to Grey) 165htz at 2k graphics for high level gaming this is very important. The 2k graphics insures you see everything crystal clear and the 165htz refresh rate means you get no frame skips assuming your graphics card can handle it. This is incredibly important for shooting games and makes it easier to land your shots. Probably the single best upgrade a gamer can get in my opinion is a high refresh rate monitor. Also has one of the lowest input lag times in a monitor at about 11ms I believe (9ms is i believe the lowest imput lag a monitor has right now) which is really important for fighting games which require precision and timing in your imputs. All around incredible monitor for the price I currently own 3 and have plans to buy a 4th all for my gaming pc. To calibrate for best color simply apply the following: Nvidia Control Panel>Adjust desktop color settings: Brightness-50% Contrast-50% Gamma-0.60% Digital vibrance-70% Hue-0 CLICK APPLY DELL Monitor settings: Brightness-26% Contrast-75% Color>Custom Color: R-97% G-99% B-96% Make sure to download the latest driver for this monitor on Dell's website. And to everyone who this helps you're welcome Also thanks to KM for the calibration info.

This is by far the smoothest and most responsive monitor I've ever used. I'm using this with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card and it gives me a truly immersive experience with all of the games I play. Once you experience a 144+ Hz monitor with variable refresh rate technology, you won't want to go back. Input lag is practically nonexistent. The 1440p resolution brings out extra details in games while also improving my productivity. (I recommend setting DPI scaling to 100% to make the most of the added desktop space; the pixel density isn't high enough to make text hard to read.) Despite the TN panel, color accuracy is actually very good. It won't match a professional monitor for color-critical work, but it comes close, especially after calibration with a colorimeter. It helps that this monitor has a true 8-bit panel, which is relatively new on TN displays. Blacks are nice and dark, and there's no backlight flicker (unless you use ULMB, which uses controlled flicker to reduce apparent motion blur). If you're in the market for a 1440p gaming monitor with all the performance of a high-end 27" display but in a more compact form factor, you will not be disappointed.

Probably, one of the best monitors you can get for the price, if you're looking for the features that this monitor offers: 1440P, G-Sync, and 144/165hz refresh rate. I researched several monitors in this category and the Dell came out on top of other monitors with the same features, in my opinion, as it was priced lower than the competitors, especially when on sale, and got very favorable reviews on other sites from most users. I got it when it was on sale for 399.99. I think the normal price is $100 more but it seems to go on sale very frequently. Another thing I like is that there are 4 USB 3.0 ports, 2 on the side and 2 on the bottom, which are always nice to have. I debated getting this or a 4K monitor to pair with my 1080 TI. I opted for this one because I feel that 4K monitors are still a little overpriced and most of them "only" run at 60hz, which might be fine for gaming(with G-Sync) but would increase the odds of getting eyestrain while doing non-gaming tasks. In the near future, you can probably get a 4K monitor with HDR and 120+hz for a similar price than this but if you need a monitor now, this is a great monitor for the price! One minor negative is that the monitor doesn't have built-in speakers but it's not enough to deduct a star, as most people would use headphones or have external speakers, anyways.

I would have never guess this was a TN panel. Once calibrated, colors were great, contrast was pretty good. IPS and especially VA panels beat it in this category but definitely better than how TN panels were back in the day. My unit didn't have any backlight bleed or any "glow" that you typically see on IPS panels. 1440p at 24inches means you have great pixel density. Hooking up a console looks great as well. Just make sure to adjust your range to full RGB. As far as reponse time, well you can't get any better than 1ms gtg. All in all i think the 24 is the better option versus the 27inch. Higher pixel density means you can get away with turning down or off anti-aliasing to improve system performance and the smaller sibling is the latest hardware revision. Some users of the 27incher have reported inversion issues, not all but some. I got mine on sale for $400, that's a great price for what you're getting, a high performance gsync monitor with fantastic response time and great color(when calibrated).

I was looking for something 120Hz or more, 1ms response time, 2K resolution, with GSync, but every monitor I could find like that was around $600. But then I found this, so I thought I’d give it a shot. It fits all of my needs perfectly! Love the quality, and having the extra USB slots is nice too. I did have one weird anomaly where the data for an entire column of pixels about 1/4” wide in the middle of the screen would somehow end up being sent to the edges of the screen. So my whatever was supposed to appear in those columns would “teleport” to the edge of the screen. That concerned me greatly as I’ve never seen that before. But switching the input from DP, to HDMI, and back to DP cleared it up immediately, and I haven’t seen the issue since. So far it’s been a fantastic monitor.

After going briefly with an Asus -- and returning it because of its PWM backlighting (and other issues), I ended up with this Dell and never looked back. This one really checked all my boxes: ** Ultra-high refresh rate? Check. ** GSync? Check. ** Super sharp text? Check. ** Non-PWM (no flicker) backlighting? Check. After comparing dozens of brands and models, this one had the absolutely best value for the dollar. In fact, it easily beat competing monitors costing considerably more. Like most monitors, you'll want to fine-tune the color, contrast, and brightness a bit. You won't have any trouble finding optimal setting recommendations online, though. Tweaking is easy and only took me five minutes. Highest recommendation!
