Dell doesn’t support the warranty. Dont buy a Dell
|Posted .Owned for 8 months when reviewed.Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Bought in April 2020. In December I opened the display as I normally do and the bottom bezel cracked in half. I noticed then that this was because the display and the lid are separating. I called Dell’s warranty department and after going round and round sending photos and video they said that they would have to connect me support because they were declaring this was due to accidental damage. There’s not a single scratch or dent anywhere other than the bezel that is very obviously broken because the screen is no longer secured to the lid. The whole thing shifts. I bought this laptop because I’m working from home and now I’m afraid you use it. I wouldn’t dare try to fold it for drawing. So thanks for the $1100 paperweight.

I liked it.

Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I purchased the computer. Very happy. I loaded all my programs. THEN I noticed that battery at 97% charge and TWO HOURS remaining. I called BestBuy. They said, even though I joined Geek Squad, looking at the new computer was not part of the plan and I could return it. I resisted because of all the work I put into loading software. I was uncomfortable with a computer w/ only two hours of battery life and returned it after two weeks. In summary: the computer was great. I don't know what happened with the poor battery performance. But for sure I'll buy another one once this virus ends.

Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5The devices feature is very convenient to use with a stylus pen. The only downside to this laptop is that it gets really hot fast and it blue screen on me the first time I receive the laptop and sometime it would have a flickering screen. Don't know what it is? So I am going to return the laptop back.

Posted .Honesty100,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear that your computer is not performing as well as you hoped it would. We'd recommend the following tips to help your computer's overall temperature:
Tips for Proper Usage:
1. Dell does not recommend placing portable systems directly on your lap. Due to reductions in the thickness of modern portable systems, heat transfer can be an issue.
2. Using a portable system (Laptop) on a hard, flat, non-cloth surface will increase airflow and reduce heat from underneath and inside the system.
Using the portable system on a blanket, pillow, or other types of cloth will cover up the fan cause the computer to overheat and can cause permanent damage.
3. It is recommended to use the portable system in a Room temperature of 0°C to 35°C (32°F to 95°F) with a Humidity level no greater than 90%.
4. Use compressed air to clean the vents on a regular basis.
5. Using a cooling pad can decrease heat and increase performance.
6. If you want to know the temperature limitations for your system, go to the Dell Support Website, look up your system model then open the user guide under the manuals link.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2uJ8AdG.
If you'd like to diagnose the Blue Screen Errors that you're experiencing we'd recommend these steps:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2PPb4BI.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct.
Lastly, if you are continuing to have a flickering screen you can try to troubleshoot it with the steps in this article: https://dell.to/3dvnuYX.

Great laptop as expected!
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I needed a laptop that was fast enough to do a lot of coursework for college, and it works pretty well. I really like the 2 in 1 model and wanted to try it out because I knew I would take lots of notes and draw lots of diagrams for college. The laptop size is ideal for me, not to big or too heavy to put on my lap and a good size for writing like a tablet. The laptop runs at a relatively fast speed and it is easy to work with so far. I also like the idea that there is an HDMI port you can use to plug into a larger monitor and have a larger view to work on stuff. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because I had a few concerns. -The lighting on the keyboard is a little bit too dim for me, so sometimes it is hard to see the keys. -The battery life is fine, but I wish it lasted longer. The battery life is 3-4 hours as the product states, so I won't complain too much. -When you start the laptop, the fan kicks in pretty loud for about 30 minutes, but it does calm down and become quiet after longer use so it is not too bad. -The mouse is pretty sensitive when you try to move the mouse around even if you lower the sensitivity. Just be careful if you set up your track pad to do a lot of functions. -The pen is like any normal pen, where the amount of pressure on the pen is how thick your strokes will be. I really like the feel of the pen, it is a good size and gives you a good grip when holding the pen and using it. I am a little nervous that the tip of the pen will become dull from doing lots of writing and planning, so if Dell does make another model please have replaceable tips for the pens. I am not too worried about the pen now; I just wanted to leave it as a suggestion. Overall the laptop is really nicely designed and has a lot of cool features! If I could I would put 4.5 stars for this laptop!

Nice laptop - battery duration disappointing
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This is my first touchscreen, 2 in 1 PC. It has been a bit of a challenge learning the proper way to use it in Windows tablet mode. I am amazed at the superfast startup. The first few times, I thought I had forgotten to shut it down and had put it to sleep instead. Not so, it’s really that fast. The 4K display is excellent. Sound with headphones is really nice, without headphones is ok. The active pen/stylus has minimal instructions. It works fine for drawing/deleting drawing and as a right click on folders. I haven’t determined how to use it for selecting/moving text. The touch pad works fine once I read up on how to use it. I hadn't expected to need to use 2 fingers for some of the commands. My main disappointment thus far is battery related. I had read a LaptopMedia review on this model which stated 630 hours of web browsing. My laptop was down to 9% with 28 mins left after 4 hours and 35 mins browsing for pc instruction articles using Win Edge. I had turned battery saver on about an hour into my session. I’m also using a cooler fan as the battery becomes very hot without it, which keeps me from using it folded into a tablet for any length of time. After charging the battery, I belatedly realized that it resets that battery saver option to off upon charging. Something I need to remember to reset after each charge. I have now followed Win settings battery saving recommendations and also removed OneDrive and all syncing. So far I have used it for 3 hours since last charge and its indicating I’m at 26% with 2 hours left. So a bit better. Of course the remaining battery time keeps fluctuating so I don’t feel I can really trust it too much. Update: I shut down and let the laptop sit for a week. Battery shows 14% with 45 minutes left. How can it lose so much without being powered on???!! I know this laptop is only 3.2 lbs and feels light weight when held while open, yet to me it feels heavy when closed. If the pandemic ever ends, I plan to travel with it and am hoping it doesn’t feel heavy in my backpack. I'll also need to find a lightweight laptop cooler and usb hubs to take with. I am content with this laptop for the sale price and the fact it came with the active pen. I was originally concerned about the small 13” screen yet it seems perfect for a portable pc. I do wonder if I should have paid more and bought the Dell XPS or perhaps one of the other 2 that held my interest - HP Spectre X360 or Lenovo Yoga C940, although maybe their battery duration is not as expected either.

Good forSchool.
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I had the product for a month now. I actually use it for college. It’s great with a few things to consider. Every now and then the laptop gets warm at the bottom. I would just close the laptop or unplug for a few minutes to keep it cool. It’s not a big deal if you have a laptop fan. Sometimes my MacBook does the same thing. And if you use a tutoring service that has a whiteboard, beware that the pen is considered a mouse so you might not be able to write what you want on the screen. It’s not a big deal to me because that’s with all touchscreen laptops that has a stylus. But the pen works on the One Note application. Just get a separate graphic drawing tablet if you need to get tutored or tutor someone online through a whiteboard. I’m able to put 10-20 tabs and put some music in the background and it handles it fine. It took a while to get use to the Microsoft environment. I also run mainly one engineering program on it so I can’t speak much to that but the space is 512 anyways.. so Love the fingerprint reader.. today it didn’t work but after a restart it did. So every now and then make sure to restart the machine. I use my laptop everyday for class. I would say the battery life is 5 hours and it takes about an hour or so for a full charge. Camera quality is great and a light lights up when you use it. And be careful! A door bumped into my laptop and it got a scratch so i would say it’s susceptible to scratches. Lastly, no one has complained about my microphone or audio yet.

Disappointing Battery Life
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality3 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I've had this for 3 months, and overall I'm pleased. I normally am HP loyal, but expectantly needed another laptop. At the time it was on sale for $400 off. Pretty good deal. Pros It's fast, not a lot of bloat-ware, sound, wifi, display, all good. Cons Battery life. In the power mode, I run it at about 30%, expecting great battery life. I'm not a gamer. Mostly browsing & emails. Battery is only good for just over 4 hours. A far cry from the 8+ I got from my HP Spectre. Keyboard is back-lit, but most of the light comes from the side of the keys. Not much light coming through the keys themselves. The under carriage gets really warm, bordering on hot. I frequently use mine in a reclined position, with this laptop resting on my gut. When using it for a few hours, I've had to ice the area down (my gut, not the laptop) to cool down. Would I buy it again? Again, it was a good sale price, so (hesitates) probably.

Posted .SirBilliam,
Thanks for your review and we're sorry to hear about the issues that you've had with your 2-in-1 so far. Here are some tips to help extend the life of your computer's battery:
Change the Power Plan:
1. On the notification area of the taskbar, right-click the Battery icon.
2. On the options list, click Power Options.
3. Select a power plan on the battery meter, such as Power Saver or Balanced. Windows 10 has a built in 'Battery Saver' mode that can be activated to extend your system's battery life. The Battery Saver mode will monitor and limit background activity and other features such as push notifications. You do have the option to enable or disable this mode within settings or within advanced Battery Saver settings, you can customize the mode to best suit your needs.
a) Click on the Action Center icon in the taskbar and select the tile for Battery Saver.
b) If running Cortana then type Battery Saver into the search box and select from the results.
Within the Battery Saver settings page, you will be able to turn on and off the feature and customize the feature to best meet your needs.
c) Turn Battery Saver On or Off.
d) Additional settings available via the Battery use and Battery saver settings links.
e) Battery use shows further info on apps and their power usage.
f) Battery Saver Settings screen allows you to customize further Battery Saver feature.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This computer was not even on my radar when I started looking for a new laptop a month ago. Instead, I was bedazzled by the cuts and corners on the HP Spectre x360 FHD. It was a nice machine but after week one, the touchpad started becoming unreliable and HP diagnostics said the touchpad needed to be replaced. For me, a major hardware failure in the first thirty days of ownership is a red flag. I exchanged the Spectre for the 13" Surface Laptop 3. I love the look and feel of the surface laptops. Unfortunately, it was running so hard it stopped working (it would boot on the Microsoft logo screen, shut off and repeat). Sadly, I decided to try a Samsung Notebook 9 Pro 13". I've had Samsungs since defecting from Apple to windows five years ago. They are usually pretty reliable. The Pro had no defects but the screen was a real disappointment. I know many people think 1080 on a 13" is more than enough but I think QHD and 4k provide a much better reading experience. I noticed the Dell 7391 when I got the Samsung but the regular price of $1299. Was out of my budget. The sale price of $999. made it a possible to purchase. And I am so happy I found it. The screen is amazing. And the hardware make it very fast. The cherry on top is the stylus with built in housing. This laptop is a true sleeper hit!!

Q: QuestionDoes this 2 in 1 laptop come with the active pen, or does the pen have to be purchased separately?
Asked by TA823.
- A:Answer The pen comes with the unit. Very helpful especially for electronic signatures. Dbm11
Answered by Dbm11
Q: QuestionWhat about the battery issue?
Asked by Eli.
- A:Answer I have the 7391, which is awesome, but also gets a little toasty sometimes. I found a few different things on websites and found when I made these changes, the heat dropped from 80-85 to 40-45. 1. Open "Dell Power Manager" app, under "battery information" (the first tab) go to "settings" on right side of screen and choose "Primarily AC use", then got to "thermal manager" (the third tab) and choose "Cool" setting. Close app. 2. Click "battery" on far right of taskbar and move slider to the middle. 3. Turn off Intel Turbo Boost in BIOS menu, to do this power off laptop, begin pressing "F2" repeatedly while powering on the laptop until you see "entering BIOS menu", go to "Performance" tab in BIOS menu and towards the bottom is the option of turning off turbo-boost (toggle off), then at bottom of screen choose "change settings", after exit BIOS and laptop will reboot into regular mode and that is it, hopefully it will do the trick (it worked for me).
