Good solid computer
Posted .I considered several laptops for home use, and picked the Inspiron 1525 for its great price ($599), slim profile, rich features and nice build quality. What set it apart from other laptops in its class is the lack of cheap-looking, glossy plastic cover, keyboard, mouse pad, and else that unfortunately have become the norm for HP, Toshiba and other brands. Instead, Dell offers a wide variety of colors for the Inspiron 1525 non-glossy great looking cover. Performance is decent with the T5750 processor and 3GB RAM. It's amazing that this slim laptop can pack so many inputs including 4USB, HDMI, 1394. Bluetooth is missing, which would have been nice to have. On the down side: speaker is a bit weak, loud fan noise as the fan turns on a bit too often especially if you are run multimedia software, and glossy screen. Again, why does everything nowaday have to be glossy? This makes the screen very reflective and hard to work with. In summary, a nicely build laptop with lots of features and great value.

Best Product for a Low Price
Posted .I bought this computer because my Toshiba laptop took a dump after only three years. It was having a lot of problems over heating and shutting down as a result, which I found to be a common problem among Toshiba laptop users. Something to do with the ventilation space under the laptop where the fan is located. Anyway, I steered away from Toshiba and went with the Dell (plus I got it on sale in the store for $599 when I bought the black instead of the multi-colored ones). It starts right up, no loud noises from the fan like before. The battery lasts for up to 8 hours and display looks great. Definetlely a great buy for a college student with basic homework. If you are looking into graphics design or something I still think the display is great but not sure what your expectations are. Also, this thing is light weight, couldn't weigh more than 3-5 pounds, a far cry from the 8 pound laptop I had before.

Excellent Product/Choice
Posted .I purchased this laptop because of all of the positive reviews it received. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I think this is the best laptop ever! It rivals a regular desktop in so many ways. The only problem I've encountered is trying to hook it up to my Epson Color Laser printer, so if I need to print anything I have to use the desktop computer. I would high recommend this product to all of my friends and family. I installed Windows 2000 and now I have my monthly budget right at my fingertips. I purchased a gadget from Verizon, who is my cellphone carrier, so I don't need to find a WiFi center or phone jack to use. I can use my laptop anywhere I get cellphone reception. This is so convenient since I travel and there isn't always a router nearby to use - don't need one!

Very happy student
Posted .I had a lot of trouble choosing a computer at my local best buy but with the help of a sales associate I came across this great buy. As a college student this computer is perfect, it is light-weight and compact to take to campus every-day, it comes in a lot of great colors so that you can express yourself. The built in webcam has great definition and makes keeping in contact with my friends and family back home very easy. The volume, play, fast forward, pause and reverse are all easily accesible so watching movies is a breeze and with the large memory capacity on this laptop downloads and burns are quick in simple so you don't have to take up any book and fun time. I greatly recomend this computer to any and all students and everyone else. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Best Dell Laptop
Posted .This is a best laptop you can purchase from Best Buy. It has a good processor (Core 2 Duo), nice graphics card, wireless, etc... If you want to buy this laptop, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE SPECIAL BEST BUY IS GIVING. You can also get a D-Link router (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8305568&st=dlink&lp=8&type=product&cp=1&id=1173577562535) for 50% off its price when you order it with this laptop. THIS IS A DEAL. For me, the router, along with the laptop, less than what it would cost me if I bought a Wireless-G router. This Wireless-N routers can give speeds upto 300mb/s and also have a wide coverage due to it having many antennas.

Up and running within minutes
Posted .This is my first laptop, and so far, I'm very pleased. Everything works quickly and quietly, and I'm looking forward to hooking up my scanner and usb turntable to really take advantage of some of it's good qualities as an entertainment laptop. Haven't installed any additional software yet, but don't anticipate any problems. The issues with the touchpad and lack of a number keypad are more my own since I'm making the transition from desktop to laptop, and it's an adjustment. But the keyboard is much better then a lot of other laptops I tried out. And, by the way, it's a very attractive laptop as well.

Great laptop
Posted .This is a great laptop. I've had it two days. The only problem I had was, after 1 1/2 hrs plugged in, the battery meter said plugged in but not charging. I called Best Buy and they said to bring it back and they would replace it. Then I checked the reviews and found one stating the same thing...quick fix!! The power connector MUST be plugged into the power supply with the Dell logo facing up or the unit will not charge. It's a really great unit for the price. I priced the same laptop on the Dell site and it was $748, and that's without a dual layer DVD burner.

Great Bang For Your Bucks!
Posted .I purchased this laptop approx 2 months ago in the Jet Black version. It has been a great bang for the bucks. Nice entry level laptop with ample hard drive space, swift processor and nice feel to the keys. The battery life has been better than expected, the display in HD is awesome. Sound is average from the built in speakers. Vista OS is nice, new Windows Mail is a dream come true. I spent a lot of time researching laptops/ prices, and came back to Dell. They build great computers!
