This may be a bit biased since I was upgrading from a much older laptop, but the difference has been night and day. My old laptop's fans were constantly running, making it sound like a jet revving up for takeoff. This new laptop is whisper-quiet by comparison, and pretty well loaded on memory and CPU. But, if you're looking for a light machine, this is not the laptop for you.
