A gem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was mainly choosing between this and the Asus PB278Q, and when I found out this is a non-PWM panel I am sold. Before I purchased U2713HM I saw all those reviews and youtube videos on the cross-hatching and backlight-bleeding problems, and after a while I found out that all of them were prior to 2013. I than searched for reviews about this monitor in 2014, and I didn't see any complaints, so I pulled the trigger. I bought one off Best Buy with $30 gift cards and got it for $520. It's manufactured in March 2014 with a revision number A00. I am glad to see that it indeed has none of those old issues and no dead pixels. It comes with a fact sheet about the pre-calibration on product-line. The overall build quality is genuinely solid, and I liked the adjustable stand and the professional-look a lot. Among all monitors in this range (WQHD, $400~$700, 27 inch), I think this one has the right balance between price and performance, without any compromises that will bug you (appearance, panel quality, PWM issue, etc.)

Exactly as described
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the subject says: as described. No dead pixels; beautiful monitor that isn't from a sketchy Korean company on EBay. I upgraded from a 22" and moving up to 27" took some adjusting too (I actually got a headache for the first few days). After that though - its gorgeous. Gaming (on a GTX 680) has never been more immersive at such a high resolution. My large excel & visio files are much more workable as I can quickly scan the whole page as opposed to scrolling. I honestly now have a tough time using another computer with a normal size monitor, specifically at my day job - it feels as though I took my adult size desk and downgraded to one of those 5th-grade chair-and-tiny-desk combos - yeah you can get the job done, but its uncomfortable and inefficient. Or, for gaming, it's comparable to going from non-HD sports to HD sports and then having to go back again. Ugh. I love it. If it weren't so expensive I'd get two and duo monitor it.

Beautiful Colors - Bright and Sharp
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a photo hobbyist and this is the best monitor I have ever owned for editing pictures. As a hobbyist I don't need pro quality (or price), but I wanted something better than a standard panel. This monitor fits that requirement nicely. I was initially concerned about the IPS light bleed that so many reviewers talk about, especially concerning this monitor. This monitor does have some light bleed, but it's very subtle. It is only apparent during the darkest screen displays and even then I probably wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. It certainly does not bother me. There is one disadvantage to this monitor, but it's not the monitor's fault it's mine. The 1440 resolution, even on a 27" monitor, makes the text appear smaller and my eyes don't see as well as they did when I was younger. The fact that this monitor displays even the smallest text razor sharp really helps. If you work with MS Office this 1440 monitor is excellent at displaying a very large portion of a spreadsheet, 60 rows and out to column AN at default settings, or a long Word document. Overall I am quite happy with the monitor. About the only thing I have not done with it is watch a full HD movie. I have a wonderful home theater system so even a great 27" monitor is not the way I want to watch my movies.

Excellent Monitor!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the first one so much that I bought another and run them both at 2560x1440 - I am a programmer and need the screen real-estate. While doing C# coding in Visual Studio, I run the font at 8, and it is crisp and clear, thus minimizing eye fatigue. I'm also a gamer, and am currently playing DarkMod, a Thief-based game, and the display is simply fantastic. I've waited literally years for the flat panels to reach this native resolution, and at a reasonable price, and this monitor delivers the goods.

Great monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Somewhat expensive but excellent monitor. I wanted to get away from having to little screen real estate to handle two jobs at the same time. The 27 inch monitor does that very well. Also the great resolution insures that the extra screen space isn't wasted with poor quality imaging. This is a very fine monitor for all the graphics based apps that are all around us nowadays.

Very Nice Monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor works great. The colors are good right out of the box. I definitely turned down the brightness, but didn't really touch much else. I am using it with a DVI connection to my Dell computer. For the price I paid at Best Buy on sale, I don't think I could have gotten a better monitor. I haven't played with all of the Preset Modes yet, but I have watched a few Blu-Ray movies on Movie Mode and they look great. The clarity, colors, text, blacks...... all look great on this monitor. Can you buy a better monitor? Of course you can, but you'll pay a lot more. I am very happy with this monitor.

A very good alternative to an Apple monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought this to get the most out of my MacMini where I run both Windows7 and Apple OS, after having done a lot of consumer feedback research. I am greatly satisfied. However, be warned that neither Dell nor Apple technical support service people know that unless you buy a separate Mini Display cable ( costs less than $10 at Amazon) which is not supplied in the box, you cannot get the maximum 2560 resolution which is the ONLY reason you would move away from a 24" monitor.

Q: Questionis there computer screens for visually impaired? My grandfather is legally blind and interested in purchasing a computer. He needs to use very strong magnifying glass to read anything and is wondering if there is a screen that will help him to be able to see better. Also what is the largest size computer screen you can get?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 30 inches is the largest computer monitor made...... As far as magnifying......you can easily do that on any monitor so text is big on screen, this way he won't need a magnifying glass to read text.
