Great for the size and price!
Posted .The DeLonghi Espresso maker does a great job with making frothy espressos. I've owned other espresso makers that work well but require that you purchase their espresso pods. This espresso maker allows you to use your own coffee grounds which allows you to change the flavor whenever you want. The ability to use your own grounds also reduces the amount of waste created by the competitor’s espresso pods. The built-in steamer/milk frother is also a great feature. The other espresso makers I’ve owned have a separate appliance to froth the milk which is not as convenient at the built-in frother that this DeLonghi offers. The only issue I had with this espresso maker is that you need to use short coffee cups as seen in the photo. There is not enough room for my regular tall coffee mug to fit underneath. This espresso maker also has a small footprint, which I appreciated. It doesn't use up very much counter space and is very easy to clean and use. Overall, I feel this is a great product for the price and I am very pleased with this purchase.

Restaurant quality espresso
Posted .As a beginning espresso maker I was very nervous about buying a coffee maker. I finally decided to give the DeLonghi a chance and I now know I made the best choice! It is perfect on my counter, doesn't take up a lot of room. But the big test was making coffee. It passed all tests and I now make coffee with ease. So easy to work and also easy clean up. I am so happy with my purchase! For any beginner this machine is the best and believe me, I did so much homework before purchasing one. Have fun with it and enjoy a great cup of espresso.

super easy to use!
Posted .The delonghi espresso machine is fantastic. I love how simple it is to make a double shot espresso or single shot. It is very simple to use and the milk frother works like a charm. I made latte, cappuccino, and espresso all in one machine. I like that it is not bulky and heavy and easy to transfer if needed. This became my new day to day coffee machine. I really like the easy to use scoops and filters. It looks great too. I will highly recommend this machine to anyone who loves coffee. It's very easy to clean as well which is an added bonus. I received this product to test from ReviewClub.

lasts 2-3 years
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.this is probably the 4th or the 5th of the same machine that I bought. it is made well and priced reasonable compared to the other alternatives and brands in the market. However, a few points... I make 4-5 latte or cappuccino per day with filtered tap water. previously used distilled water only with my older machines. release the pressured steam after each run and don't start a new water heating cycle unless you release all the pressure from a previous frothing process. the pressured steam wrecks the piping inside. and pipes are plastic. dont switch it on and leave for an hour. amazingly, the wiring inside is not made to take sustained high temperatures. they may short before 2 years. clean the frothing tip/nozzle every once in a while. tamper is a joke. it is useless at best. some experience: my first machine died due to plumbing. plastic tubes died somehow after 3 years. second machine died as the wires shorted. third machine died as the knob on top (the valve) wore out and broke. so don't tighten it too much. so i am on the 4th machine and bought the 5th just in case. i have been using the 4th for over 1.5 years...

Not perfect, but worth the money!
||Posted .I was looking for an espresso maker after a recent addiction to BuckStars cofffee. After a few months, I was hooked paying $6-$7 with tip 2x a day. That's $14 per day, which is $320 per month. With the new addition of DeLonghi espresso maker, I gleefully wake up each morning to make my wife and I a double shot espresso white chocolate mocha. You may spend $20 a month in milk, whipped cream and various syrups for two people however, That's a drop in the bucket compared to the $3,800 a year I would be paying BuckStars. The machine is high quality for the price and efficiently supplys perfect espresso shots with minimal wait time. It might take 5 minutes each morning for 2x doubleshots and 10 minutes for 2x large white chocolate mochas. Minimal cleanup and wake up time makes our mornings a breeze. My wife constantly raves about the extra productivity and alertness she has at work after consuming a DeLonghi made caffeine beverage. My only complaint, and I mean only, is the height from the drip to the cup. You need a very small glass, a little taller than a shot glass, to successfully capture the espresso greatness. If you can afford $50-$100 more, it will be money well invested for a larger machine, but if on a tight budget you will not be disappointed in your morning wake up routine. If you watch a few YouTube videos, you will be able to pull a perfect shot of espresso each and every time with little to no learning curve. I am no professional, but that doesn't stop me from getting my homeade BuckStars on. Wooooo!

Good quality for the price
Posted .I think this espresso machine is a good quality for the price, but definitely isn’t great. The espresso tastes OK, and the machine is easy to use. I love the taste of espresso as it is, so FOR ME this machine doesn’t necessarily cut it. I think this machine is better for someone who maybe likes espresso, but also uses creamer and other things.

Price is right.
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I was looking for a hobby during lock down, and this fit the bill. It doesn't take up much space, and it works pretty well. I've been using it for about a month. The milk steamer takes some getting used to, but I'm a total novice so it could be me, too. I recommended it to a friend, and now we send pictures back and forth on the group chat to see who can make the better latte.

Good entry level device
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Completely reasonable place to start for your caffeine addiction. You can use of the shelf bagged coffee and get a good cup of coffee. The steamer work's okay, you won't want to try heating a large amount of milk with this. There are a lot of little modifications you can do to improve it, to get a better tasting shot out of it. One of the biggest down sides is the small portafilter. It's only 51mm where the standard size is 58mm. Finding a tamper for it is very difficult and when you do it ships from China on a very slow boat. The built in tamper is almost impossible to use and ends up making a mess

Q: QuestionI just made my first cup. There was NO crema whatsoever, even my 14 year old espresso maker that I replaced with this one still made crema! Is there a secret? Also I used enough espresso but there was very little flavor and a bit of a tinny taste.
Asked by lyn.
- A:Answer sounds like not enough ground coffee and/or inadequate tamping. I use two overful scoops then smooth off the top and tamp with light to moderate pressure and a twist. I get good espresso with nice crema every time.
