I purchased this game to play with my sister. We grew up in the N64/PS One and PS2/XBox era and with that there was a lot of couch co-op. These days, we live in separate cities and still reminisce on those days of our childhood and teen years. It's nice we can play games online, but this isn't my favorite type of game. It's a first person shooter, RPG. I'm very much used to single player games with more of a narrative and this game kinda bores me. The story isn't too strong and many of the missions feel repetitive. Some of the later expansions improve on that. My sister has beaten the game and states that the last expansion was really awesome, but I don't feel it. I really only play this game with my sister and her husband. However, just because this isn't my type of game doesn't mean I can't see it's strengths for those that flock to this. There are a lot of awesome things going on here. The vehicles feel organic, the shooting feels intuitive, the power ups are awesome to play with and do not get old, and the armor you can get --some of the best in any RPG. The story, though lacking is kinda cool. It's dark with a lot of mysterious elements, but the way its interlaced feels like an after thought.

I'm not big on first-person shooters, or multiplayer games, and when I first played the demo of this game, I wasn't really into it. However, I kept hearing good things so when the collection came out, I decided to snap it up. I don't regret it at all - this is a great game with a fascinating narrative world, and really enjoyable to play. The multiplayer isn't overly intrusive - you still basically get to do your own thing, but there'll be other people just running around in the same world as you, doing their own thing. You can join with them in fire teams, or just stick yourself as I do. A few things - the game itself doesn't give you a lot of help in the beginning, so make sure to consult the many websites and guides out there. - get the app for your phone - it gives you a lot of the extra details, lets you read up on the history of the world etc with the grimoire cards you accumulate along the way. - I would recommend not inputting the codes for the expansions straight away - do the early missions and build up some familiarity with the game. Otherwise you'll get dropped in at level 40, and have a map full of missions to try and choose from. Some sites offer a chronological list of the missions and I would follow these.

I pre-ordered and played this game at launch. I even played it in beta, but it wasn't until now that this game felt like it was worth the buy. After a couple hours playing at launch and in beta, I felt that I hadn't received my money's worth. I finished the story mode within a day and a half of moderate play around my 9-5 job. The online mode was ridiculously unbalanced and I felt that I didn't even stand a chance in crucible or raids so I avoided them altogether. Without the exclusive gear from crucible or raids, or the friends to play in the raids for that matter, I was stuck at a low light level and got sucked into the loop of repetitive side quests and bounties that lacked any sort of "feel of accomplishment". It wasn't until one of my friends started playing again, now 3 years later that I was able to advance, and actually enjoy the other aspects of the game that I felt shut off from before. Destiny finally feels complete with Destiny - The Collection. It feels the way it should have when I spent $64.95 on the pre-order back in 2013.

I'm not really much into first person shooters, nor playing deathmatch games. That said, I like Destiny. I think Destiny is a good game for the a casual player, because its not TOO difficult to get through. The creature AI isn't the brightest in most cases, making them fairly easy to pick off without getting yourself killed. Many times, if you're in a dungeon type area with doorways, the monsters won't bother to come through the doors. Lots of times, too, a monster can be staring you down, just out of their weopon range and you can pick them off with a sniper rifle; a lot of times their buddies won't even run for cover and you can pick them off too. There are separate areas for deathmatch arenas away from the quest area if you're into that. This is an ONLINE ONLY game. You MUST be connected to the internet to play. The quest areas will have other players roaming around as well, and you can team up to kill stronger creatures, or just do your own thing.

This is the collectors edition of Destiny that includes the original vanilla game and all DLC/Expansion packs currently available. The game is very fun and addictive. The lore is incredible though you will have to do some reading online to get the full story. I have been playing Destiny since an Alpha tester back in 2014. As someone with almost 1100 hrs invested in this game I highly recommend it. I purchased the Collectors edition so that my son could play along with me as well on his own PS4. He loves it and so does his friends who have all decided to jump on at this point. For the $34.99 price tag this deal cant be beat! Unless you have a gamers reward club membership then its $31.99 :-)

Picked up the game to play with an old friend. Only had it for a week i'm still playing catch up, there is an enormous amount of content available within the game. Even if you aren't a new play there are plenty of daily/weekly quests. This is a great time to buy the game it definitely has more than 60$ worth of content and replay-ability at this stage of its life cycle. The game does feel a little grindy but my little time playing i have enjoyed it more that i thought i would. This is also the first FPS i've ever actually gotten into, i don't play multiplayer competitively or ever plan to but the dungeon crawling and class system feels like a real RPG and thats what i am enjoying.

This review is for anyone considering this game as a solo play experience. The storyline is pretty standard MMO variety fair. You will level and upgrade your character to make progress. You're not going to get a deep storyline, but it's not bad for a game of this type. However, you are going to experience some game balance issues playing. Some of the missions are not designed with solo play in mind. The game isn't broken but you can expect to be frustrated and of course you will miss out on the group only aspects of the game.

Destiny - The Collection is the perfect opportunity to buy into the game and have access to everything. Destiny is a fantastic shooter that can be played solo or with a group. When buying The Collection you receive an item that will automatically boost you to level 40. If this is your first time playing, I would highly recommend NOT using it. All of the content is fun and jumping straight to the end is a little overwhelming if you haven't done everything before it. All in all The Collection is a great value and a game everyone should play on this generation of consoles if they are a shooter fan.
