Synopsis

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days
In this third film in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) wants to spend the summer before eighth grade playing video games and maybe, if he can finagle it, getting closer to his crush Holly Hills (Peyton List). The former plan goes out the window when his dad Frank (Steve Zahn) decides to ban video games from the house. In order to connect with his young son, Frank schedules a number of fishing trips and signs the boy up for Scouts. Greg has more luck on the girlfriend front when his best friend Rowley (Robert Capron) invites him to go to his family's country club, where Holly works as a tennis instructor. Soon, in order to avoid spending so much time with his dad, Greg lies to his parents and says he works at the club, a deception that his older brother Rodrick (Devon Bostick) uses to blackmail him and gain access to the establishment. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

I try very hard to spend time with my daughter who is currently ten years old, and often that is in the form of just being together while watching movies. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series of movies, and especially this one, is very well done. It's silly and funny but offers some real life lessons. It is a fresh breath of air when compared to so much of the garbage kid shows on cable TV. Unlike so many movies targeted at my daughter's age group, this one is of high quality, including story line, production quality, acting and comedic value. Our whole family couldn't help but laugh out loud together, which in my opinion is a healthy thing for a family to do. Highly recommended movie, and series.

The stories are a great way to capture children's attention, keep them focused, and leave them wanting more. In a digital age where kids prefer playing games on tablets rather than expanding their reading and study skills, this series helps because it will most probably make them want to read the source material that the video is based on. A great investment in their lives, it is!

This movie is funnier than the other two and i really enjoyed them. This had me laughing more than my younger siblings and honestly in every scene. It is a great movie for the whole family. I went to see this in the theater and more adults were laughing just as much as the kids. The bluray picture is really good. Buy This Movie, you will not regret it.

I bought this movie for my kids before even watching it myself. I had seen the first Diary Of A Wimpy Kid and have also read a few of the books to my kids. This movie was really good. It was really entertaining and had a few good laughs. The acting is good for kid actors.

As far as I am concerned this was the finally of the movie series, Long Haul needs to be in its own category. Don’t get me wrong Long Haul was pretty good but in its own right.

Great movie for the entire family. Having seen the first two movies, this one was a must and we were not disappointed. If you haven't seen any of the other movies, you will still be able to follow along with this new title.

My son (11 years old) is really into this series of books and movies. He saved up his money and bought this movie. We all watched it and enjoyed it. He's watched it 10 times since.
