Customers are satisfied with the Mavic Mini Quadcopter's camera quality, ease of use, and its compact size, frequently praising its performance and value for the price. Many appreciate the extended flight time and its ability to handle moderate winds. However, some users experienced issues with the app's compatibility and the lack of obstacle avoidance features.
This mini drone skates the registration requirements (under the FAA hobbyist rules), as it is under the 250 gram threshold for the US, and Canada. Easily stashed in a small camera bag, it takes very little initiation to get it into the air quickly, and stays stable under 18 mph winds. Keep in mind that winds can make a drone get carried off if gusts affect this smaller unit. Has almost half an hour rated flying time, the controls/ three axis gimbal camera are smooth, and it can move along up to 29 mph. It takes good pictures and videos, but not at the same time, lacking the ability to snap pics while recording video. It will, however, switch back and forth to either easily enough while flying. Also, no "Follow me mode", but it has other preloaded features that accentuate the terrain an enthusiast would like to surround him/herself with. Spare batteries are tough to find, as they are in high demand right now, and they take about 80 minutes to recharge. Aftermarket chargers (buy a fast charger) are available, but a battery can charge without removing it from the drone. The pictures are from a small lens obviously, but not too much fisheye effect shows. I have watched dozens of Youtube videos, and it has an amazing range of over a mile in most conditions. Keep it within visual line of sight, though! The transmission back to the phone/controller to see what the drone sees is smooth, with no lag to speak of, and not glitchy. I have seen others who test the limits, and for them, at extreme ranges, will cut out, which automatically triggers the return to home process. I avoid flying near restricted airspaces, such as around airports, and have seen videos where guys try to infiltrate them with this, but DJI adds a feature that only allows for entering those airspaces when it has gotten appropriate authorization(s). So, geofencing is another great feature to minimize any hazards flying drones can become to manned aircraft. A lot of features that are included in this tiny package!! This is an easy to fly drone, and great for those who like to travel.

Love this little thing! The picture and video quality are great and It's easy to use. I bought this for real estate photography and it's already paid for itself. It's small enough to fly indoors yet strong enough to fly across 40+ acres of land. It also held up well on a windy day.

The Mavic Mini is an incredible drone and a good aerial camera. I’ve owned pretty much every DJI drone prior (Phantom 4, Mavic Pro, Spark, Tello, Mavic Air, Mavic 2 Pro) and I find the Mavic Mini to be one of the most fun to fly. It might not be as capable as the Mavic 2 or as large as the Phantom but it’s zippy and can even manage in some 5-10mph winds. Flight time is awesome though I would definitely recommend the Fly More Combo — charging the batteries in the drone via micro USB is slow and gets old fast. As for camera quality the Mini isn’t quite as good as the Mavic Air. Hardware-wise it’s basically the same camera but the limitations of the new beginner-oriented DJI Fly App as well as the 2.7k max resolution makes it hard to ever use this drone for anything more than posting stuff for people to view on a tiny smartphone screen. Once the footage is blown up on a computer or TV it really starts to fall apart fast. Overall I think DJI has created probably the best beginner drone available, though those with more professional aspirations would be better saving up for the Mavic Air (or upcoming Mavic Air 2).
