Fun, portable, and it takes good pictures

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Camera, Flying, Picture qualityThis mini drone skates the registration requirements (under the FAA hobbyist rules), as it is under the 250 gram threshold for the US, and Canada. Easily stashed in a small camera bag, it takes very little initiation to get it into the air quickly, and stays stable under 18 mph winds. Keep in mind that winds can make a drone get carried off if gusts affect this smaller unit. Has almost half an hour rated flying time, the controls/ three axis gimbal camera are smooth, and it can move along up to 29 mph. It takes good pictures and videos, but not at the same time, lacking the ability to snap pics while recording video. It will, however, switch back and forth to either easily enough while flying. Also, no "Follow me mode", but it has other preloaded features that accentuate the terrain an enthusiast would like to surround him/herself with. Spare batteries are tough to find, as they are in high demand right now, and they take about 80 minutes to recharge. Aftermarket chargers (buy a fast charger) are available, but a battery can charge without removing it from the drone. The pictures are from a small lens obviously, but not too much fisheye effect shows. I have watched dozens of Youtube videos, and it has an amazing range of over a mile in most conditions. Keep it within visual line of sight, though! The transmission back to the phone/controller to see what the drone sees is smooth, with no lag to speak of, and not glitchy. I have seen others who test the limits, and for them, at extreme ranges, will cut out, which automatically triggers the return to home process. I avoid flying near restricted airspaces, such as around airports, and have seen videos where guys try to infiltrate them with this, but DJI adds a feature that only allows for entering those airspaces when it has gotten appropriate authorization(s). So, geofencing is another great feature to minimize any hazards flying drones can become to manned aircraft. A lot of features that are included in this tiny package!! This is an easy to fly drone, and great for those who like to travel.

The point-and-shoot of drones

Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Camera, FlyingCons mentioned:AppThe Mavic Mini is an incredible drone and a good aerial camera. I’ve owned pretty much every DJI drone prior (Phantom 4, Mavic Pro, Spark, Tello, Mavic Air, Mavic 2 Pro) and I find the Mavic Mini to be one of the most fun to fly. It might not be as capable as the Mavic 2 or as large as the Phantom but it’s zippy and can even manage in some 5-10mph winds. Flight time is awesome though I would definitely recommend the Fly More Combo — charging the batteries in the drone via micro USB is slow and gets old fast. As for camera quality the Mini isn’t quite as good as the Mavic Air. Hardware-wise it’s basically the same camera but the limitations of the new beginner-oriented DJI Fly App as well as the 2.7k max resolution makes it hard to ever use this drone for anything more than posting stuff for people to view on a tiny smartphone screen. Once the footage is blown up on a computer or TV it really starts to fall apart fast. Overall I think DJI has created probably the best beginner drone available, though those with more professional aspirations would be better saving up for the Mavic Air (or upcoming Mavic Air 2).

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Flying, Picture quality, PriceThis drone pack a punch, it’s super back to basic for experienced pilots. I won’t be taking this up in high wind. Base kit is more than enough for a toss in bag. I got three decent flights to get the shot I was going for on one battery. Thanks dji for a quality product and price point. Fun.

I bought this for real estate photography and it's already paid for itself. It's small enough to fly indoors yet strong enough to fly across 40+ acres of land. It also held up well on a windy day.

Dji mini is worth every penny
Posted .Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:FlyingJust got my Dji mini. I purchased the fly more ( highly recommended) and it's so nice. We bought some generic cheap drone first and it was crap so we returned it and bought this and there is no comparison! I was scared I would crash the mini but it basically flies itself. Go on the app and make sure you are not in an airport fly zone and if not you are good to go. If you don't want to spend a fortune and want a fun little drone that takes great pictures with decent range then you can't go wrong! Lol not sponsored!

The Perfect Drone!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This DJI Mavic Mini is great for beginner like me. This was my first drone and it has been perfect for me to learn the mechanics of flying. Since it weighs 249g not FAA registration. I will probably grab the DJI Mavic Mini 2 when the price drops over great drone. I was able to get some great shots of both of my Teslas. Great drone for the price

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Camera, Ease of use, Picture qualityI have owned a Phantom 4 Pro for a couple of years and decided to pick this drone up. I know a lot of beginners will gravitate to this because of the price but the drawback for them is the lack of obstacle sensors on this unit. The only time I needed sensors was when I was learning to fly. That said, the camera is stable, the software is easy to use and it captures great images.

Q: QuestionHow does the DJI Mavic Mini compare to the DJI Spark?
Asked by Ocotillofats.
- A:Answer The Spark shoots in a maximum of 1080p, along with a 2-axis gimbal. It has obstacle avoidance in the front, and the Mavic Mini is a replacement. The Mavic Mini has enhanced wifi, like the spark. However, it is better, and has evolved to fix problems that happened with the spark. The Mavic Mini has a 3-axis gimbal, can shoot videos in 2.7k, and shoot photos in 12MP. The only downside to the Mavic Mini is that it has no obstacle avoidance in the front. I recommend getting the fly more package, with a roll cage, if it is your first time with a drone, or if you want to protect/get maximum protection out of your investment.

Q: QuestionWhat is the distance it will fly?
Asked by Chief.
- A:Answer It is advertised for 3km but this will be possible only in a very open/perfect flying condition. I only got 200 meters (~200 yards) distance myself when flying behind my house, over trees. It's using Wi-Fi to communicate between the Drone and the Controller, so anything between the drone and the controller will interfere with the transmission.

Q: QuestionWhat is the flight time for battery?
Asked by pepi.
- A:Answer The advertised flight time for the Mavic Mini is 30 minutes. Realistically, not in “perfect” conditions, around 25-27 minutes.
