Customers are impressed with the beautiful graphics, engaging story, and classic JRPG gameplay of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. Many players consider it to be one of the greatest JRPGs ever made. While some found the music to be lacking and the game a bit easy, the overall consensus is that it is a fun and enjoyable experience.

Froze my PS4 pro 4x
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Near the start of the game in the sewers, my PS4 pro just shuts off. Reinstalled and no change. Waste of time and money.

Excellent RPG
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I last played a Dragon Quest game on PS2 with Dragon Quest VIII (one of my favorite games on PS2) and this was just as great, if not better. If you enjoy traditional style RPG's with a great story and fun gameplay, you'll want to play DQ11. I put in about 100 hours finishing the story and then going back to complete all sidequests and enjoyed every minute of it. The game can be a bit too easy at times, but you do have the option to handicap your experience, by choosing various options (tougher enemies, not being able to purchase equipment, etc.) when starting a new play though

A worthy bearer to the Dragon Quest series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I love this the graphics in this game, they are just amazing from the waves in the water to the trees branches blowing in the wind, the art direction is top notch. Turn based battles return for DQ XI, which is not for everyone but I’m old school so I very much enjoy it. The overll gameplay is more or less the same as the previous games, either you like it by now or you dont. I’m only 15 hours in but so far the story is very good not overly simple or cliched like a lot of JRPG's released these days. I would recommend this to anyone that has grown up with Dragon Quest or any other old school JRPG. You don’t have to play the previous DQ games to understand the story of this one, but if you have played previous DQ games, you'll see some familiar references

Best JRPG in a while
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used to play JRPGs almost exclusively. I'm not sure, at some point either they started to change, my tastes started to change, or both. I just found myself not enjoying them as much as I used to. Not only did I stick to Dragon Quest XI to the end, I put over 100 hours on it completing post game content. I will have to say, the story was so riddled with tropes that it almost became a parody of itself, but the overall design of the game was great and combat was enjoyable (if not a little too easy). If you remember the golden era of JRPGs (SNES and Playstation era), you'll find a lot to like here. Recommended.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never played a Dragon Quest game before but heard only glowing reviews about the previous ones. Decided to give this one a try and the combat takes a bit of getting use to. I would have been thrown off if it weren't for Pokemon in my earlier days. Awesome story, great visuals. Finally a game that seems to have some effort and thought put into it.

Revival Needed for this Gen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a fan of Dragon Quest since I was a child this is a must have. The graphics a great and the continued art style over these decades is such a delight. The game play is classic with a modern take. The story length is worth all you do. The characters a fun and deep, give or take a couple. All in all it was well worth the purchase. Great for a jrpg fan!

Dragon Quest is back!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never was lucky to have played the Dragon Quest games of old (Previously known as Dragon Warrior) I got my first real experience of the series on the PS2 with Dragon Quest 8 (now on the 3ds go pick it up it's amazing too) I loved that game. Maybe it was the fact I am a huge Dragon Ball Akria Toriyama fan or maybe it was the fact I love JRPG or maybe it was just a great game or all of the above. But from that moment I was hooked. Since then I waited so long for Dragon Quest to return to consoles in a true JRPG fashion so when this go announced a few years back I knew it would be something special and boy was I right. The graphics and gameplay the story the voice acting it's all top notch. If you were looking for an old school JRPG fix with modern graphics and high production values this is for you. After being very disappointed in Final Fantasy 15 I was concerned if Square Enix lost the ability to make a good JRPG but this game proves that they still can. So what are you waiting for? Go pick this game up now before a metal slime steals it and runs away.

Classic JRPG fun!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DQ11 is one of the best JRPG’s I’ve ever played! The game looks and plays great. Enemy design is amazing! The story is fantastic and as my entry into the DQ series I was completely enthralled and entertained for over 80 hours! A must buy for any fan of of classic turn based RPG’s!

Q: QuestionIs there going to be a special edition? I want to pre order the game but I’d rather wait to or order if they are going to do a special or limited edition.
Asked by Tcasey.
- A:Answer Square-Enix has said that there will be limited edition, but it will be exclusive to their online store. It likely won't be available for sale at regular retail outlets. No details have been released, but news is expected to drop during Square-Enix's E3 info stream on Monday June 11th.

Q: QuestionThe picture doesn't show that this is the "Edition of Light" but I've seen some other retailers show this image and have the Edition of Light in store. Is this the "Edition of Light?"
Asked by Whyigottahavedisplayname.
- A:Answer The Edition of light is the launch edition that features a reversible cover and download codes for in-game bonus items that are not necessary to complete or enjoy the game. The copy you would get probably won’t be the edition of light, but i don’t know for sure because I haven’t seen a copy in person in store. A new edition of this game is coming soon that features improved music and added gameplay elements. I would wait for that new edition.
