available for preview at www.myspace.com/direngrey Dir en grey once again gives light to an otherwise bland, cliched metal scene. Dum Sppiro Spero, the Japanese quintet's first full length release in over two and a half years, is a clear evolution away from their last release (2008's "Uroboros), however it is no less of a beast than its prdecessors. The band has made some definite changes in their approach to songwriting, proving once again that they are capable of surprises with each new release, accounting for a big part of what makes and keeps their fans. Highlights include the midtempo but lead-heavy "Lotus"; the album version of Hageshisa to, Kono Mune..." features cleaner vocals and guitars than the original. "Juuyoku" and "Yokusou No Dreambox" are sure to be a favorite of the live audiences, but perhaps the most outstanding track on the album is the near-ten-minute-long "Diabolos". While not the rollercoaster ride of its epic predecessor "Vinushka" (from "Uroboros), it is a solid, creative, and extremely well-constructed piece that does anything but bore or disinterest even the most casual listener.

    Dir en greys metalcore album

This is one amazing album. Dir en grey does an amazing job. Technical screaming/singing at its finest! Not to mention some pretty rediculously creative drum patterns. The guitars also very good. Fits perfectly with the new dir en grey sound. Bass guitar is just rediculous. I love this album! (:
